Electronics and Communications Engineering Department
The Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering
is the largest department in the College of Engineering at De
La Salle University. Currently, the department has nineteen academic
personnel, one non-academic personnel, and six support personnel
providing technical, professional and administrative services.
Different laboratories have been established for each area of
specialization. A number of specialized modern research equipment
were acquired from the Department of Science and Technology through
Engineering and Science Education Program. The equipment are used
by the personnel and students for research and development. The
Research Center of the Department will also provide consultancy
services to industry, it also conduct industrially relevant researches.
During the starting phase, the Center will identify research areas
which have elements of research, service, and development. The
results form the research in an identified area should be available
as a service to out local industry. Aside from undertaking collaborative
research projects with industry, the Research Center of the ECE
department also aims to train industry-oriented researchers and
engineers through seminars or short course training.
Mission Statement
The Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering envisions the
ECE graduate as a competent and ethical professional in the areas
of electronics, communications, and digital signal processing.
The electronics and communications engineer uses a creative and
systematic approach to the design, implementation, and management
of various devices and systems of semiconductors, electronic instrumentation
and control, and telecommunications, relying on knowledge and
skills from the mathematical, physical, and social sciences.
Moreover, the student develops an adequate knowledge of the
engineering creative process, thus, developing an understanding
of the interaction of electronic devices and systems with each
other and the environment they operate in.
Furthermore, the Department of Electronics and Communications
Engineering, being part of the De La Salle University System,
aims to teach the students minds the necessary research skills
whose products will satisfy the needs of the a growing economy;
and touch the hearts of its students instilling in them the socially
responsible practice of the profession. And in effect, achieving
the goal of becoming Christian Achievers for God and Country.
