PREAMBLE
We, the members of the Electronics and Communications Engineering
Society reaffirming our faith in the Mission Statement, and recognizing
the need to initiate, coordinate, and support student activities,
and in accordance with our will and our intention, to create and
maintain the conditions and opportunities conducive to the full
realization of the goals of the society, and to promote student
welfare and to enrich student participation within the academic
community, do hereby ordain and promulgate this constitution.
ARTICLE I
NATURE
Sec. 1. The Electronics and Communications Engineering Society
(ECES) is a professional organization founded for the purpose
of research, the academic development of the art of electronics
and communications and for the maintenance of fraternalism.
Sec. 2. The Electronics and Communications Engineering Society
shall have six (6) auxiliary groups namely La Salle Enthusiasts
in Radio (LASER), Peripherals, Hardware and Software Organization
(PHASOR), Microelectronics and Integrated Circuits Research Organization
(MICRO), UPLINK, Linkages and Winner’s Circle. All are semi-autonomous
special interest groups created to complement the society in achieving
its goals
ARTICLE II
DECLARATION OF PRINCIPLES AND OBJECTIVES
Sec. 1. The Electronics and Communications Engineering Society
recognizes the following as its guiding principles:
1.1 That all members of the De La Salle Community shall work
for the accomplishment of the Mission Statement.
1.2 That the Electronics and Communications Engineering Society
adheres to the policy of cooperation and harmonious relationship
with other student organizations, faculty, administration, and
other sectors of the community.
1.3 That all members of the society shall have the right to be
heard, and to be informed of all matters that concern them.
1.4 That all members are to give the society every assistance,
to any action it takes in accordance with its constitution.
Sec. 2. The Electronics and Communications Engineering Society
shall pursue the following objectives:
2.1 Enhance academic excellence and personal growth among its
constituents by serving as a link of communication and participation
among the sectors of the academic community.
2.2 Serve as an effective co-curricular professional organization
stimulating interest in the basic tenets of electronics and communications.
2.3 Promote interest in the field of electronics and communications.
2.4 Develop, provide and maintain by itself or together with
other entities, a means for experimentation on technical matters
relating to electronics and communications.
2.5 Safeguard the rights of each member and to extend any assistance
to him or her within its capabilities.
2.6 Establish camaraderie among the members.
2.7 Establish formal linkages with external sectors whose goals
and objectives are conjugate and parallel with that of the organization.
ARTICLE III
MEMBERSHIP
Sec. 1. Membership to the society shall be open to bonafide students
of De La Salle University.
Sec 2. Membership to the society’s auxiliary groups shall
be open only to bonafide members of the society.
Sec. 3. All members shall be required to pay membership fee, which
shall be set by the executive board for certain privileges which
the members of the organization can avail of.
Sec. 4. Membership is only good for one (1) school year, unless
otherwise terminated and may be renewed every year.
Sec. 5. Members are required to attend General Assemblies and
are encouraged to participate in the organization-sponsored activities.
