Food
Food is wonderful, magical stuff to me. It envokes both physical and emotional responses. No party I have ever been to has been void of food. Personally, I take pleasure in being able to cook food that people enjoy. I think that everyone should know how to cook. Cooking is relaxing and (usually) very rewarding. I have included a very small list of my favorite recipes, as cooked by me. The list will grow as I can actually remember the ingredient list and portions for different recipes. I cook like my grandmother - by eye. "This much looks right". It has never failed me, except for when I am trying to describe the recipe to someone else.
Computers
Ok, ok ... I guess somewhere inside me, there is a computer geek. I mean, why else would I be putting myself though getting a degree at Waterloo? Recently (thanks to CS341) I figured out that I am more interested in practical and physical aspects of computer science, and no so much the theoretical side. In the future I will have a page that has to do with programming in C++ and Java.

One of my favorite things about programming is that you can actually see your work in action. This machine in front of you takes some text, translates it into 1's and 0's, and of it goes, crunching binary and coming up with what you see before you. Hopefully one day I can program a robot. That would be sweet. As for my future, I don't know where it lies in this industry. Maybe I'll take advantage of my people skills and become a consultant. Or perhaps I can get down and write some meaningful code for Microsoft. This is an exciting field to be in, and although it has suffered some big losses of late, this is where I want to be. (Well, I would also love to act, but I can't make my face pretty)
Movies & Television
While I do know some peple who pride themselves on not watching television, I am not one of them. Currently I enjoy 2 shows in particular: Smallville and The Simpsons. I also enjoy watching WWE programming, but lately things have been getting strange, even for this type of entertainment. There are a few exciting stories coming down the pipeline, so perhaps my excitement will return.
As for movies, I do like to watch a movie once a week, old or new. My list is far too long, but there is a small subset of my favorites here.
Cars!
Back in 1994, my dad bought an old sports car and we rebuilt the engine. Since then, I have a big interest in cars. I currently drive a 1993 Ford Probe GT. I can often be found lurking the pages of ProbeTalk.com and ONPOC, trying to learn about my car. While I know that the "Boy Racer Import" scene is huge right now, I am not a fan. I appreciate subtlety and high quality work. Big wings, HUGE wheels and nitrous don't excite me. Many times some friends tell me "Man, with 10 grand I can make my <insert car name here> go faster than a Ferrari!" Yeah sure that's true, but the car will be LOUD, unrealiable, and of such poor quality that driving on anything other than completely flat roads will be a terrible form of torture. There's a reason why some cars have a V8 instead of a hopped-up 4-cyl, guys! Finally, you can't (legally) race all the time! What are you going to do during the long trips? You took out your a/c to make the car go faster, and that exhaust is getting annoying!
