The typing of numbers

Guidelines  governing the use of digits or spelled-out forms should be agreed on before typing begins and the agreed format should be described in the key file. In many languages, all language numbers less than 20 are spelled out in full. In one Indian language, a special number code was used to specify both the spelled out and numerical digit notation in order to support the publication of both new reader and regular editions. An example of this is given in Table [*]
