Our Lady of Walsingham Athens Community Page |
I must admit, though, that when I first joined Geocities, I had no intentions of interacting with the rest of the Athens neighborhoods; I was simply here to display and to promote the Anglican Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham. I was grateful for space that I could devote to our lady, but my gratitude went no further than that. However, I was slowly drawn into a relationship with Athens through chatting friendships and the ability to play homepage tag with these freinds. And, as I am coming to realize (something which Geocities understood from the beginning), we do not exist in isolation, even in cyberspace, rather we do form a community and it is up to each and every one of us what we are to make of this community: we live to each other and we die to each other. And I want to be a part of that community.
My primary purpose is still to maintain my page of devotion to Our Lady of Walsingham -that is where the majority of my efforts are. However, I will no longer completely neglect the wider community of Athens and Geocities. My first efforts at becoming an active member of Athens neighborhood was to apply for the Religious Round Table, and the Athens Atrium. Since I have been accepted, it is time to display my links and show my gratitude. So what follows is a partial listing of links to Athens' sites, my efforts in community involvement, and award (if any) that I may accumulate.

I haven't won any awards yet, but I haven't really applied myself to the point of earning recognition. And indeed the only recognition I need is to know that Anglicans and Christians everywhere may come to love our Mother in Christ, Our Lady of Walsingham amd become better Christians in the process, although I have to admit the demon of pride in me would like awards, but they are not necessary.
So enjoy your stay at Our Lady of Walsingham, and equally enjoy a vist to Athens, geocities style.
May the prayers of the most pure Mother of God, Our Lady of Walsingham go with you.
