The Forum was the centre of attention of the whole Roman city and in it the market and the headquarters of the public shares were situated.

The Forum of Tarragona is formed by a big square which was surrounded by shops or "tabernae" where the mercantil exchange was made. Nowadays, we can find traces of these "tabernae", of a Corinthian columns portic (which is thought that surrounded the square) and of a small building of 13 x 11 m. which is thought to be the Curia (where the mayor lived).
