Satire

I don’t believe in fairy tales anymore.
The lost ‘innocence’ of childhood, a
pallid crepuscule in retrospect,
loved and mourned, evermore...

Brilliant is the dream, woe when you
awaken to find a Necromancer’s tangled
web of deception, a slight of hand, a trick
of trade, Like a 'silent movie' without an end
there is no living color, its black & white...

The light it pales, the darkness seeps,
cavernous, empty, a deafening weep.
The winds they wail, the tides do
turn but this fate I shall not accept...

It is with 'poison' quill I aspire to
pen these thoughts. Deadly are
my intentions to rid my soul of
'Once Upon A Time'. The irony of
of it all I shall consecrate unto
perpetuity...

Mind numbing are the words that drift
through my consciousness, pen to paper
they will not 'become'. They are but phantom
manifestations posing in a funhouse mirror...

Introspective prophecy, roused from slumber,
enlightenment falls like rain from a star
bereft cosmos likened to so many psychadellic
tears of a sad circus clown...

Tender are my recollections of endearments
past, yet in so many ways cold, so very cold
is a heart rendered asunder bled & torn.
Frigid is my life’s breath, a voice is lost...
'Nevermore'
