~ Dream Chaser~

I am standing at the edge of Eternity,
nowhere left to go, nothing left behind, with
an enflamed passion I have �burned bridges�.
I am held spellbound by the fire within,
a life force that remains a mystery to me.
It screams out �walk the path thou have
chosen�, yet I am lost. Where is the end?
What was the beginning?

When the heart is blind to truths untold,
chaos like an iron-clad fist in a velveteen
glove it rules the soul. Strip bare the veil
from my facade, the past is naught more
than old scribblings on a page of the book...

Eyes wide open I must awaken to the enlightenment
that the journey has just begun there are miles to go
before I sleep. Beyond the chasm that lies between,
submerged within the secret depths dwell the answers
to questions I have yet to fathom. What �was� is nevermore
what �is� in the passing of Seasons I shall �become�...

A mirage as �sublime� as the sheer bliss of
a lover�s caress, the serenade of the eventide,
nostalgic of moonlight as it falls upon still
waters beguiles me into the unknown. Fallen
unto darkness I aspire to tread the emptiness
though I find I am in way to deep...

A voice ascends above me as I plummet
into the dusky morrow. For a �time� I
thought I heard an echo, akin to flowery
prose from a silvery tongue, as subtle as the
dreamy hue of clouds on a Summer�s eve it
whispered of �Second Chances� then in a moment
it was gone, words are often without understanding...

A �stranger in a foreign land� out of touch with
my �inner self� like a fairy tale without an end,
I am damned unto perpetuity to watch as the dream
...fades to black...
