Now that I've discovered polymer clay and become addicted to making things with it, my mission is to convert other people. I've started on my family...

My mother - Sally Julian

This was her first necklace. She made the beads using scraps from translucent rose and leaf canes. She found the oyster shell on the beach and conveniently, it already had a hole in it so we didn't have to drill one. She used a rose that I had already made and put leaves on it to fit the oyster shell. The rose was baked and then glued in place. The necklace is strung on waxed linen cord.

My sister - Jane Julian

This was her first project in clay. The dolphin has seed beads for eyes and a touch of interference blue Pearl-Ex to give it some shimmer.

Jane was looking through some of the books on clay I had gotten from the library and came across Sue Heaser's rose corsage pin. This is her variation on a stem of green floral wire. It can't be seen in this scan but she also gave the edges of the petals a light dusting of silver Pearl-Ex.
