Plot -
When traveling to report in at the mansion, Captain Marvel runs into an invisible barrier.
Unable to pass through it in all her forms, Cap returns to the mansion, to find the Wasp
has already someone the others. Inside the Baxter Building at the epicenter of the strange
energies that created the barrier, the Negative Zone native Annihilus tells Alicia
Masters, his prisoner, that the Fantastic Four can not stop him. However, just outside, he
finds that the Avenger known as the She-Hulk is trying to move the invisible barrier. The
other Avengers arrive, but nothing, not even Thor's lightning can enter the field. Thor
even throws his hammer into the field. It breaks into the barrier, but then falls like a
feather onto the ground. Thor quickly runs away, because without his hammer, he is
transformed back into Dr. Donald Blake. Meanwhile, at the Cross Technological Enterprises,
Hawkeye, a wounded Avenger, can only listen to the tales coming from the city. Back at the
barrier, the Vision and Scarlet Witch arrive. The Vision tries to alter his density to
enter the field, and succedes. But once he's inside, he suddenly freezes up and falls to
the ground. Starfox suddenly realizes what the field: a null-field that has the power to
merge a positive and negative universe to destroy them both! Starfox sends Captain Marvel
around the sun to collect enough power to destroy a level of the Baxter Building. Before
she returns, Annihilus appears, warning them of impending death. Captain Marvel flies
through the barrier, and destroys a generator. The barrier is destroyed, and the Avengers,
with Thor back at their side, rush to the Baxter Building. There, they find Mr. Fantasic
and the Human Torch who just escaped from the Negative Zone. The Vision is placed under
his care, but then the Invisible Woman appears, carrying the limp form of Franklin
Richards. The Avengers and Fantastic Four rush off, leaving only the Scarlet Witch with
her husband. |
