Plot -
J2 and Thunderstrike are enjoying a relaxing day in the mansion when American Dream enters
the rec center with a tourist group. The tourists ask for autographs and such, but the fun
is interrupted when a young man crashes in through the window. The three Avengers get the
civilians to safety, and then take on the young man who calls himself Argo. The battle
lasts for a few moments, but J2 manages to pin him down, Argo reveals why he has searched
for the Avengers: he is need of their help, in order to find his father: the god Avenger
called Hercules! The Avengers agree to help, and the other Avengers meet them down in the
conference room. Mainframe works the computers, searching for any information on Hercules.
But the Crimson Curse gets a premonition of someone not wanting them to find the former
Avenger. The team splits up, with Stinger, Crimson Curse, and Freebooter staying behind to
search for the strange presence that is haunting the Curse. Meanwhile, J2, Thunderstrike,
Bluestreak, American Dream, Mainframe, and Argo head for a SHIELD station where Hercules
was last seen. There, they meet with an old ally, Agent 33. During their search of the
complex, Mainframe and J2 accidently disrupt the computer, but Bluestreak manages to save
the day before the defense systems hurt anyone. Back at the mansion, as the other Avengers
and Dr. Lang get closer to the strange disturbance, Crimson Curse suddenly screams out in
pain and collaspes, and they are left to wonder just what in the world is going on. Back
at the SHIELD station, the Avengers finally find their quarry: Hercules himself! The
Avengers, however, are not ready to deal with the god, because he has lost his sanity.
Hercules's mad rage angers Argo, and he begins to pound on his father. Thunderstrike
seperates them, but Hercules mistakes Thunderstrike for his father, and tells him about
the horrors he saw during the last battle of the original Avengers. Hercules relaxes, and
the Avengers leave him in Argo's arms, wondering what was so terrible as to destroy
Hercules's mind? |
