Plot -
In Latveria, the former land ruled by Dr. Doom, robots called Doombots begin to terrorize
the public. Back in New York, at the Avengers Mansion, the Avengers are getting ready to
celebrate the holidays. Stinger has a brief altercation with American Dream, and then runs
in on Mainframe downloading the computer's files. Stinger wants to travel to Latveria, but
Mainframe tells her the UN already asked the Fantastic Five to go. So when Stinger's
father, Scott Lang, gets a call from the FF, Stinger opts to ask them if the Avengers can
take the case instead. So, Stinger heads off to ask J2 and Thunderstrike to go off on the
mission, but insteads finds the Dream Team waiting for her. Stinger agrees to have them
come with. On the ride there, Stinger tells them about how she was raised in the FF's
shadow, and grew up besides the young man called Kristoff Vernard, the ward of Dr. Doom.
Meanwhile, back in New York, Thunderstrike and J2 stop by Thunderstrike's father's grave,
and both return to their human forms. They head off to Thunderstrike's apartment to have
some pizza and talk about life. The other Avengers reach Latveria and encounter the
Doombots. They fight for a while, but then the Crimson Curse finishes the battle by using
hurricane winds to blow them all away. The group enters the catacombs beneath them, and
head towards the castle. They find themselves trapped by a stack of debris, and Stinger
shrinks and goes on without them. Once inside, Stinger finds Dr. Doom with a young child.
But before she can figure just who this Dr. Doom is, the Dream Team appears attacking
Doom. Stinger stops them, placing herself between them and Doom. She removes her mask, and
Dr. Doom does the same, revealing that he is indead Kristoff. Stinger and Kristoff say
their good-byes and the Avengers leave. Once they're out of Latveria soil, the castle
implodes, teleporting away. |
