amelia.jpg (31329 bytes)AKA: Amy

Family: None Known

Lover: Former: Professor X

Affliation: Former: Acolytes

Appearances -
Magneto: Dark Seduction

Powers: Amelia can transform her body into a mist that allows her to teleport over great distances. She was able to transport herself and others, even the distance between Earth and Avalon, the Acolytes's space station. She can also dissipate herself into mist without teleporting.

Origin: Amelia was a young woman during the war in the east. She became a nurse, and there, she treated a young man named Charles Xavier who was paralyzed. (Amelia learned later that he was not paralyzed because of the war, but because of a confrontation with the alien Lucifer.) In time, the two fell in love, and when the time came, Amelia followed Charles back to America, to his family home in Westchester county, New York.

History: Amelia struggled to help Charles walk again, but the strain on his body and the stubborn of his mind hindered her helping hand. Although she loved him, she was perpetually angry with him for the lack of trying. She found another reason to be angry: he spent most of his time making the plans to create a school for mutants, the genetically cursed humans with fantastic powers. Amelia, herself a mutant, was furious, and she believed mutants should hide from the face of humanity in fear. It was during this confrontation that Amelia and Charles found out the other was a mutant.
During her time with Charles, she also met the man that would shape the majority of her adult life: Magneto. While with Charles, Amelia was stunned when Magneto and his two pupils, the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, appeared before her and Charles on a platform powered by Magneto's abilities. She also learned that Magneto knew of Charles's plan to form a school and that Magneto knew actually who she was.
Amelia was content enough to remain with Charles for some time. The time came, however, when Amelia would leave Charles and never look back. On the very night he brought Scott Summers, the first X-Man, into his home, Amelia left forever. She may have returned later, but while she was leaving, Charles turned his powers on her, in one moment of selfishness. Charles realized his mistake, but it was too late. Amelia left forever without another word.
The years past, and Amelia disappeared, hiding her mutantcy from the world. She learned of the X-Men, Charles's pupils, that were sometimes considered heroes, more often considered terroists. But Amelia became unhappy, and she turned towards the man she had met years before: Magneto.
She joined Magneto and his Acolytes as more as an escape from reality, and on some level, to punish Charles by allying herself with his greatest enemy. She was confronted by the X-Men several times, but she, unlike the other Acolytes, never hurt or maimed innocents. Indeed, when Avalon fell from space, she whisked herself to Charles and his X-Men, knowing they would rescue her fellow Acolytes.
She remained with Magneto, leading the Acolytes againt the X-Men during the so-called Magneto War. In the aftermath, Magneto was given sovereignty of Genosha, and Amelia followed him there, becoming a member of his cabinet. However, Magneto was becoming more dangerous and insane then ever, perhaps deluded by his own power. Amelia, helping Quicksilver and Polaris, tried to stop Magneto from regaining the full strength of his powers. Magneto prevailed, but Amelia, who Magneto could not proved was against him, remained a member of his cabinet.
Then, the X-Men, with the death of Colossus, cured the Legacy Virus, the main problem in Genoshan life. With its instanteous cure, Magneto was given a mutant army of unbelievable power. In his declaration of war, he kidnapped Charles and strung his nearly lifeless body over the capital. Amelia watched, knowing her time with Magneto was over. The X-Men arrived, and with a corrdinated attack, Amelia, Phoenix, Dazzler, and Charles tricked Magneto, ending the circle of hate as Wolverine's claws went through the X-Men's oldest enemy.
Amelia's current whereabouts are unknown. The Acolytes have disbanded, and Magneto is appearantly dead. And, at the hands of Sentinels, Genosha was recently destroyed, all life on the island extinguished in one horrible day. Whether Amelia was still on the island when the attack has yet to be seen.
