  GENERAL INFORMATION


WHAT SERVICES DOES THE DRT OFFER?

A TRANSCRIPTION SERVICE – translating printed information on to Tape, Braille, Large Print or Diskette. We can accept information in print or by fax, disk or e-mail and we also have the facility for re-keying
and scanning.
Our pricing structure is extremely competitive with reductions/concessions available for larger orders and Charities.
There is no upper or lower limit to the size of order and – although dependent on the requirement of the customer and the size of the job concerned – our anticipated turnaround time is 24 hours.

Some of the organisations we work for include:

Inland Revenue; Trades Union Congress; Leonard Cheshire Foundation; Department of Environment, Transport and the Regions; B.T.; Department for Education and Employment; London Boroughs of Hackney, Islington, Lewisham, Newham, Southwark, Richmond-upon-Thames, Westminster City Council and the Royal Borough of Kingston to name but a few.

Prices for our transcription services start at �6.50 for 3 hour (reading/braille editing).
A TRAINING SERVICE – the DRT can offer you training in the following areas:

  • Disability Equality
  • Visual Awareness
  • Customer Care
  • The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA); general overview or individual sections

All courses are tailored to your specific requirements, and include: video clips, OHP support and information hand-outs.
Seminars or evening sessions can also be arranged for groups of all sizes.

Organisations that DRT currently provides training for include:
University College Hospital; Kingston University; London Boroughs of Richmond-upon-Thames, Greenwich, Hackney, Southwark and the Royal Borough of Kingston.

The Disability Information Bulletin (DIB)- sent to you bi-monthly for an annual fee of less than �50. The DIB details articles and publications surrounding disability which appear in the press and public domain.
You can also obtain copies of some of the articles free, once you receive the bulletin. The DIB also contains TV/Radio Disability Programme Listings for the coming weeks. (Available in all formats, including e-mail.)

Music In London – a monthly tape bulletin containing programme information from: Southbank Centre, Barbican, Covent Garden, English National Opera, St. Johns Smith Square and Wigmore Hall.
Information is taped 6 weeks in advance, giving people a chance to take advantage of the Advanced Booking system used by some of the venues. Cost for individuals is �6 a year (12 copies); for Libraries/Local Authorities
�15 a year (4 copies each month).
