Well...lets start here! Pretty much the Beatles started when John met Paul...the Beatles started as the Quarrymen. Later their name was changed to the Beatles. The four original members were John on guitar, Paul on bass, George on guitar and Pete Best on drums. In 62 they replaced Pete with Ringo Starr from the Hurricanes. The Beatles were influenced by American Rock&Roll singers like Little Richard, Buddy Holly and of course Elvis! Their first record was Please Please Me. They came to America to be on the Ed Sullivan Show Feb. 4 1964. Around '65 was the the start of Beatlemania. In that time they had hits like 'She loves you' 'Love Me Do' and 'I want to Hold Your Hand' and the record With the Beatles. They made their first film, A Hard Day's Night in '64 along with the A Hard Days night album. They went on to make chart toping songs and albums. In '67 they came out with Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, one of the first concept albums. Shortly after came Magical Mystery Tour and its movie. In '69 they made what was supposed to be their last album, Abbey Road. This was proved wrong, and in '70 came Let it Be...the very last Beatles album *sad* . In 1970 came the Beatles breakup. John was slowly drifting apart from the group, beacuse he was always with Yoko Ono. Many people beileve Yoko was the reason the Beatles broke up (Personally, I think Linda broke up the Beatles). Each Beatle went on to have good solo carriers after the Beatles. |
