CARR-HARRIS CUP
The Carr-Harris Cup is the annual Causeway Challange between Queen's University and the Royal Military College of Canada.  These two schools have a lenghty history dating back to 1886 when they played the first game ever in Kingston.

The game celebrates the history of the Carr-Harris family in the Kingston area.  The Carr-Harris family has a link with both schools:

Robert Carr-Harris taught at RMC from 1879-97 and then at Queesn from 1898-1901

Ferguson Carr-Harris scored a goal for Queens in the schools Stanley Cup loss to the Montreal Shamerock in 1899

B.G. Carr-Harris and R.M Carr-Harris played for RMC in the first West Point Game in 1923

Peter Carr-Harris coached at RMC and recorded 5 wins against West Point

The inagural Carr-Harris Cup game was in 1987 and since then has alternated between the two schools on a yearly basis.  This annual game brings out the best in the two schools.  Generally the cadets show thier pride in massive numbers whether the game is played a Jock Harty arena or at Constantine Arena.

Some memorable games in the past include the 1996 event which RMC won 2-1 in a hard fought battle in front of nearly 1500 spectators.  The game winning goal off a 2 on 1 rush had the crowds jumping at Queens as this victory helped propel the Redmen into their first ever post season berth.

Perhaps the gem was the game in 1997.  With over 1500 people packed into Constantine Arena, spectators were standing four deep along the boards at ice level.  The local cable station even broadcast the game on a tape delay.  Sixty minutes of regulation could not decide a winner nor could 5 minutes of overtime as the teams were tied 5-5.  There was a dilemma after the overtime the game was considered official by the OUA however, both teams agreed that a winner of the cup was to be determined.  The two coaches decided that a shootout was in order to decide the winner of the cup.  With home ice advantage, RMC was able to use their last shooter to win the game.  With the crowd hushed, Josh Major picked up the puck and broke in on the Queen's goalie.  He made a move and potted the winning goal.  The arena erupted in a huge cheer, the boards and glass shook as people pounded on the glass as Major rode his stick down the ice.

This intense rivaly is enjoyed by both schools as one of the key games on the schedule.

RMC currently trails the series 12-7-2.
