Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center Letterboxes (2)
"Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center is located at the foot of the Blue Mountain in Northampton County. The center is accessible from PA Route 33 at the Belfast exit, near Nazareth, PA." "The portion of the center's woodland known as Henry's Woods is perhaps the most beautiful natural resource in the Lehigh Valley. [A walk along the 1.89 mile Henry's Woods trail loop includes] the sights, sounds and coolness of the Bushkill Creek as it meanders past dramatic slate out-croppings and mature stands of hemlock and white oak." "Because of the wide variety of habitat found in and around Henry's Woods, a rich array of birdlife and wildflowers may be seen, especially during the spring months. When snow conditions are right, you can't beat this area for cross-country skiing." From: The Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center Clues: Park in the large parking lot at Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center (JEEC). You'll know you're in the right place if you see the small information kiosk at the entrance to the trail system. Grab a free map from the information kiosk and start your search. Both of the JEEC letterboxes can be found by strolling along the Henry's Woods Trail loop (about 1.8 miles). The two stamps from these letterboxes form one complete stamp image...so you must find both to complete the JEEC stamp! Walking the entire Henry's Woods Trail loop will bring you back to the information kiosk where you started. JEEC Letterbox #1: Begin strolling along the Henry's Woods trail by crossing the footbridge that crosses the Bushkill Creek just beyond the information kiosk. You will notice that Henry's Woods Trail turns right at the junction just after the footbridge, and is represented on trail signs as an orange-colored square. Follow the orange-colored squares at trail junctions to stay on Henry's Woods Trail.
Follow the trail until you cross a second *large* wooden
footbridge over the Bushkill Creek. From the box, the center of this large footbridge is at 134-degrees. The trail fork signage after the footbridge is at 215-degrees. JEEC Letterbox #2:
