The Karyuu, otherwise known as Flame Dragons, live inside Recca's arm. Rather than using a Madougu to fight, Recca relies on his flame. Here's a list and small description of all the 8 Karyuu. May contain a small amount of Spoilers.

Saiha (1st Dragon)

Ryu no En, Saiha...En Jin. Saiha creates a fire blade that appears on Recca's arm.

Nadare (2nd Dragon)

Ryu no En, Nadare...Dan En. Nadare's attacks are fire balls.

Homura (3rd Dragon)

Ryu no En, Homura...Ben En. Homura's flame is a strength enhancing flame.

Setsuna (4th Dragon)

Ryu no En, Setsuna...Shun En. Setsuna is a blind dragon. When his eye open and a person looks into it, he will burn him/her.

Madoka (5th Dragon)

Ryu no En, Madoka...Kekkai En. Madoka creates a barrier. It's known as the king of impenetrable barrier.

Rui (6th Dragon)

Ryu no En, Rui the Katanashi (illusion). Rui will turn into whatever Recca wants, all he had to do was think it.

Koku (7th Dragon)

Ryu no En, Koku. I don't know much about him. He appears during Volume 10 of the anime. He first appeared as an old man (explanation further down), giving advice to Team Hokage.

Resshin (8th Dragon)

Ryu no En, Resshin. His attacks are not known. Recca was never able to make Resshin obey him.

Karyuu as Human

That's right. All 8 Karyuus are humans. They are incarnations of the greatest Flame Masters. Resshin is actually the incarnation of Recca and Kurei's dad.
