| Cover-Up (1991) Cast:Dolph Lundgren,Louis Gosset Jr.,John Finn Dolph Lundgren stars as a journalist who is marked for death when he probes an attack on a military base leading to a good friday climax in this average thriller which relies heavily on the star power of Lundgren and Gosset Jr. Actually Dolph Lundgren gives one of his better performances and the film's climax is very entertaining but silly in the way they try to paint Lundgren as a "christ figure" which of course has to be seen to be believed. However to be frank, Lundgren and Gosset Jr. are far more capable of doing better and Cover-Up rarely lets Gosset Jr. take chances with his role, or indeed let Lundgren kick an ass until half way through which detracts the potentional fun value of this movie. Still Cover-Up is still well worth a look for fans of Lundgren, in which this movie remains foremost to his straight to video movies (Pentathlon and The Minion) while vastly inferior to his theatrical movies. (The Punisher and I Come In Peace). D. Manny Coto **1/2 |
