| Belly Of The Beast (2003) Cast:Steven Seagal,Byron Mann,Monica Lo,Tom Wu Steven Seagal stars as Jake Hopper a mercenary who travels to Thailand to rescue his daughter from terrorists who are holding her ransom in this surprisingly enjoyable actioner which finds Seagal in good form rekindling the classic essence of a Seagal flick in the vein of Under Siege and Out For Justice. Belly Of The Beast has a more engaging story then any of Seagal's later actioners which includes the overrated Exit Wounds, this movie in particular actually gives Seagal a lot of substance and surrounds him with a cast that actually has talent plus the movie contains some well staged actionscenes which make the movie far more watchable then any of Seagal's last four straight to video clunkers, still it must be said that a few of the camera movements are misplaced and are sometimes distracting, but aside from that minor flaw Belly Of The Beast shapes up to be an outrageously exciting and compelling actioner which is well worth a look for fans of the genre.D.Siu-Tung Ching *** |
