Perry Township's Geography
Perry Township is rather hilly.  The southwest quarter of the township, where the airport and industrial parks are located, is surprisingly flat.  Wilbur Stout, the state geologist in 1905, stated that this area is part of an ancient creek valley, the Sonora Creek, which had dried up many years ago. The northwest quarter of the township, where Sonora and the Auto Zone plant is located, is mildly hilly.  The eastern half of the township is moderately hilly.  There are many relatively steep and sharp hills in the eastern half of Perry Township.  Many of the roads in the eastern half of the township display the local geography:  Bald Hill Road, Arch Hill Road, Murphy Hill Road, Harvest Hill Road, Fern Hill Road, Rustic Ridge, and Urban Hill Road.

There are many streams in Perry Township.  The main stream is Big Salt Creek, which is located in the eastern half of the township.  Little Salt Creek, Pleasant Run, and White Eyes Run are also important streams in the township.  Many other smaller streams are tributaries to one or more of these main streams.
