In Indo-Canadian Women


Parents of newborn infants face an important decision as to how
to best feed their newborn child. The question of advantages and
disadvantages to the different methods of providing nourishment
play an important role and is dependent on individual family
dynamic.

Breastfeeding has been established worldwide as the most
comprehensive form of nutrition for infants.

Breastfeeding has been a universal practice
in the past but its practice is declining in terms of duration and
incidence.

Health Canada reported that only 25% of
Indo-Canadians breastfeed.
