Purpose
To toggle the representation of the layer between its name and number.
Overview
By default, the interface is in name mode and shows the layers by name. However, it should be noted that until you assign a name to the layer, its name is shown as its number prefixed by the letter L. For example, the default name of the layer number 57
is L57.
In number mode, the layer number appears in the layers bar. However, the number of the layer cannot be changed by double-clicking the layer's button in the layers bar, as one can change the name in name mode. The presence of number mode can be identified by the presence of a # sign in the layer button, as shown in the following figure.
Tgl Name/Number
allows you to go back and forth between these two modes.

Select
Layers > Tgl Name/Number.
