Shonen Sunday has published recently an article about the Story of Movie 11 containing somewhat more details. The following is what was written in the article.

Ran, Sonoko and Detective Boys are going to play an active role in the coming Detective Conan movie which takes place at beautiful island in the Pacific Ocean called Koumi-jima. They are going to face both on land and on sea a great adventure which they have never seen till now!!

Komi-jima is a peaceful subtropical island in which there is a legend handed down from ancient times which speaks about an Ancient Monument lying in the bottom of the sea (called Ocean Bottom Palace), and about a treasure left by two real female pirates called “Anne Bonney” and “Mary Read”.

Moreover, a recent discovery of silver tableware in the “Ocean Bottom Palace”, has made a sudden “Treasure-boom” in the island!!

Conan and his friends meet the treasure hunters which came to search for the treasure. However, one of the treasure hunters gets attacked by sharks in the sea and die…

Conan realizes that this is a murder case and starts investigating!!

Why Ran and Sonoko are holding cutlass and Pistol? Looks like this has great deal to do with the legend about the two female pirates which is handed down to Koumi-jima island. It is said that Anne was a cutlass user and Mary was the one good at pistols. They also say that only two of them fought with the Navy who came to capture them while the other male pirates were hiding. Maybe Ran and Sonoko are going to play more than just female pirates and are going to be more distinguished than Conan.
