| Just before we set off on trip number 18, Diana and I had spent most of the morning at the boot sale in Cardiff. There was a choice of 3 different exits, but for some reason we made our way to the furthest one from us, and just so happened to bump into a lady who was selling off all her large black bags of baby clothes for two pounds. Diana says, no wonder the Lord directed us to leave here so we could meet with this lady. Diana is always pleased to let the boot sale sellers know that the clothes are needed to take to Romania. This particular seller was also pleased to hear where the clothes would be going, she is from Bucharest in Romania.......and is more than happy to give all the clothes, and anything else we wanted, free. She asked when we would be going and we told her just before Christmas. With that, the lady asks if we could take a suitcase of goodies for her mum who lives in Pucioasa. I said "I would help her by doing that little favour as she so kindly gave us so much". By the end of November 2002, I am on the road to Pucioasa, not far from Brasov, but it's late, I'm tired and looking for a place to park up and rest for the night.... I pulled in just passed a fuel station and rested there. In the morning I looked out of the window and saw a young man standing close by, expecting him to cross the road, but he didn't. Instead he knocked my window. I wound it down just a little, and he spoke to me in good English with "good morning my brother". He went on to say that he'd been waiting a while for me, he saw a fish symbol on the back of the vehicle and knew I was a Christian. He said the Lord woke him early and told him to leave for work sooner than normal. "My name is Dragos Stroica and I work in this fuel station...Praise the Lord you stopped by here. Can you take a message to my pastor at the church in Pucioasa". Of course, I was going there. When I arrived at the church, I noticed it was right opposite the address I had to deliver the suitcase to from the lady we met at Cardiff market. |
