Last month we made our prayer request for the Lord to provide suitable transport following the theft and total destruction of the vehicle we were using to take aid to Romania.   Here is the photographic evidence of the answer to that prayer...... Not only is the vehicle taxed and MOT'd till 2009, but the purchase price of this LDV Convoy van was 700.   The vehicle was first registered in June 2003, it has to be valued at a lot more than 700.   We were told that the roof rack alone to purchase and have fitted plus VAT, would have cost round about this figure, possibly more.  We can truly say that God has kept His promise when He said He was able to do exceedingly abundant more than we could think or ask.  What a faithful God we have friends.   Thank you for joining with us in this prayer request, and we know there are several that have.  But thank you Lord for your promises which are our provision.  Jehovah Jireh - our provider - and yours also. Bless His Mighty Name.
On this 34th trip to Romania I travelled a total of 7,300 miles.  My first port of call was Arad visiting Ciprian and family, and staying 3 days, then on the Ghita and family for 3 more days, then on to Gilau.  Here I visited Tim and Jenny, Nicu and his family.  Marta, Nicus' wife is expecting their third child, so I asked them if they had anywhere for the baby to sleep.  Before anyone had a chance to say  'on it's back'  I added  'do you have a bed'  No not yet was the reply.  I asked if they have prayed about a cot, yes Nicu told me.  Well, the answer to their prayer was in the van.  Before leaving, Diana insisted on me taking a cot that was given over a year ago.  Now was the appointed time to take it......
It's amazing the things we take for granted in this day and age.  While staying at Ghitas home, a room was available for me to sleep in but there was no heating.   I said I had a hot water bottle.  Ghita and his wife Ramona loked at each other and looked at me with a puzzled look on there faces.   What's a hot water bottle?    So I showed the hot water bottle to them.  What do you do with it?   Ramona asks.  So I explained that hot water goes in to the rubber container.  Then what happens came the reply?   I put it in the bed to warm the bed up.  Hm, very interesting, we haven't seen one of those till now...........  One other item they had not seen before and that was a cricket set.  I needed to show them how the game was played by demonstrating what the batsman does, the bowler, the umpire, the fielders etc; and so.  I only wish I could have stayed longer to get a team up.
Moving on to Gilau, I took the rest of the aid.  Tim and Jenny were having a new building with a childrens' home, so there were many needs to fill.   Children would be starting to come in  next year.  I had plenty of good quality toys, many brand new...Praise the Lord. It was so good to see the donated clothes reach the destination, and the beauty of all this was seeing them delivered to our flat, Diana going through everything and deciding who has what.  Then it's rolled up neatly into Lidl carrier bags, packed into the van or trailer. I transport it to a centre where everything is again sorted and placed ready for delivery... I then have the pleasure of seeing those donated goods go to the families that need them most, and so I accompanied Tim and Jenny to these families to see the recipients take on the final blessings.  Jenny could not believe how many garments Diana could pack into a Lidl carrier bag, so she emptied one out and took a photo of the contents.  When Tim her husbaand came home, Jenny says 'how many garments do you think Diana squeezed into one carrier bag.  Tim says 15?   Jenny says no.  Tim says 25?  Jenny says no, try one more time.  Tim say I don't know - give in.  Jenny says 40 items of clothing.  Forty.  It's incredible.  Jenny could not get them all back into the bag again.  Thank God for Diana.
