Baby Jesus in the Manger
This lesson is dedicated to Mrs. Velma Ezel,
my chidren's Kindergarten teacher at Maranatha Christian Academy-
Costa Mesa, California

Materials:
Permanent Markers
Watercolors with Primary colors
Brushes, water basins,
paper towels
White construction paper
Samples of other KK work.
Tables covered with Butcher paper.

Art work : Michelangeo - Little Angels
Activity / Art project:
1, Observe Michalangelo's angels, and talk about the picture
2. Review basic shapes - circle, dots, lines, angel lines, curve
lines
3. Begin drawing in the middle of the 12x18 sheet. And draw Baby
Jesus.
4. Talk about placement, lines, and how we want this to look.
5. Continue drawing in this order: Baby Jesus, the manger, Mary,
Joseph, the stable, the horizon line, mountains, and stars, and
Bethlehem.
6. Have the students add animals, more stars, angels, etc. Whatever
they like
7. This will take some time. Try to keep the pace moving along.
8. When the drawings are completed, Students can watercolor their
pictures. Remind them about colors that they can mix, the color
of the ground, the sky, etc.
Objectives:
Understand use of patterns and shapes in the creation of art and
drawing figures
Integrating letter writing skills with art / and abstract ideas
***Understand primary colors-- Red Yellow and Blue.
How secondary colors are made - Orange, green, and purple.
Learn how to Make brown, and grey. Integrated learning for painting
this picture
