Atr`Raith> menka ::nods:: au are dismissed.
Raith and Kuro part and Raith walks toward the Kalen's docking port. At the port he runs into Farein tr`Remmi. He asks the Farein to call all the officers to the mess as soon as they were fully screened. Raith then retires to his quarters and brushes up on the speech he intends to deliver.

Several officers sit about the room. Entr`Shaleya and Ent`Kethry sit chatting at a table a few glasses of ale before them. Entr`Kuro would appear invisible in his corner were he not over two meters tall. Ftr`Ragarok sits opposite Entr`Elenhh and Etr`Parnus all busily reading ISDs. at another table Ftr`Remmi is quietly singing to no one in particular.

Atr`Raith>::nods to his XO:: as au were ::pauses to gaze about:: {{this is the first time I've seen them all in one room ...by the elements this feels odd}} ::takes a deep breadth and draws his officer's jacket about him:: Jolan`tru and welcome aboard the RES Kalen. ::returns respectful nods:: More than a few of au probably would like to know why au are here- well I intend to answer that to the best of my ability. Firstly: for those that don't know we are in orbit of ch`Revelion a quarantined planet in a quarantined system. That status has been in effect since about 150 years ago when the first RSE craft discovered this system and its inhabitants ::gestures to Kuro:: the Revellion-a are like Vulcans-our kindred. It is still unknown where they came from but regardless here they are. ::pauses:: It was decided by the commander that it was both safer to the indigenous species and to the empire that neither one knew about the other. So the quarantine was arranged and a small science facility was constructed here. From that time on only a very small group of people in the Empire have know of this planet's existence. Up until a year ago they saw this race advance slowly to a post industrial level. A year ago one of these individuals was forced to leave his post for his opposition to the RSE/FED war. Former Tal`Shiar director, Enriov tr`Ronga set up another small outpost here and opened communications with the Revellion-a government. Since then we, loyalists to tr`Ronga, of the Galae, Rei`Krannsu, and Tal`Shiar, have been grouping here.

Atr`Raith>Ie Erien?
Ent`Kethry>What exactly does that have to do with us? We are na loyal to him.
Atr`Raith>::nods:: Ie. But au are all loyal to the Empire. Let me put it like this: How many factions are fighting with Empress t`Kazon for power right now? Three? Four? How large are their forces?
Ent`Kethry>::thinks:: If I understand au right au are referring to Tomalak and his allies in the Federation? And of the other powerful Senators?
Atr`Raith>::nods:: Ie. There is too much disorder in the Empire ...for example the star base au were kidnapped from just had a large scale mutiny in which the XO's mind was erased to remove the evidence.
Entr`Kuro>::grins remembering the engagement::
Atr`Raith> As au are all loyal to the empire -which I know from your records that au are- au must be able to see that this division will only bring the RSE to its knees. ::looks from face to face:: The Enriov has a plan- a plan that will bring us back together again -to make use strong again ::clenches fist:: to make us the power in the quadrant again. It is not a pleasant plan but he and I feel it is necessary. ::pauses:: We propose to insight civil war directly- not letting it happen five years from now when things fall apart completely.
The room is deathly silent
Atr`Raith>This ship au stand in is made for one purpose- to destroy. It is the strongest craft in the fleet. With it we plan to fight and either the Empire will fight united against us or fall as a whole before us- either way the Empire will be whole again! ::pauses then turns to tr`Shaleya:: Erien tr`Shaleya is my first officer. He leads the second squad of the platoon under my command. He also runs Ops on this ship -when we need her and her services. ::turns to tr`Kuro:: Erien tr`Kuro is the Kalen's tactical and second officer. He is the third squad leader in this platoon. ::turns to t`Kethry:: Erien t`Kethry is the platoon's chief medical officer -the platoon's life blood. ::tr`Elenhh:: Erien tr`Elenhh is our political officer: the fore-knowledge we bring to our fights. ::tr`Parnus:: Eredh tr`Parnus is the Kalen's security officer and auxiliary for tr`Elenhh. ::tr`Ragarok:: Farein tr`Ragarok is our science officer ::tr`Remmi:: Farein tr`Remmi is our chief engineer ...and chef if we are ever stuck in the field. The fleet is low on personnel at the moment so will have to double up on some duties but I have every confidence that au are capable of this.
The room is filled with conversation as Raith answers more questions and various junior officers are introduced. The meeting is adjourned and the CO orders all senior staff to report to the Oira in 2 hours.

Arrain tr`Raith stood on the bridge. The space is cramped but functional. as the crew acquaint themselves with their stations Raith announces the shake down cruise is to commence in an hour. All stations are to run basic test on their systems and report any problems to the CEO or Ops officers.
