SRR Ra`KalenChapter Forty: Nerik digging up dirt
[Nerik's Quarters]

"..look out for the new Naval attache aboard the ship Vriha, he's quite screwd." tr'Nerik nodded and felt awkward being addressed by his Galae rank. He had been staring at the communication image of Vaek'riov T'Sulrin for at least twenty siuren-a by now with miccellaneous material.

"Also, a Ssaedhe class warhawk will be in au ship's area delivering ambassadors to a border dispute between the Garidian ministry and Eh'Tavu intraplanetaries--" T'Sulrin stopped, rubbing her forehead. "...with the Garidians pursuit of their own welfare, I wouldn't be surprised to notice any Rihannsu colony faction pirates in the area. Watch for them and report any incidents."

Nerik habitually nodded again. "Is that all?"

"Rha. T'Sulrin out."

Her face dissapeared off the screen to the Nei'rrh isignia.

The arrain stood up and glanced around his quarters. They were beginning to show signs of homage. A couple chroma-freeze photos hung along the greenish walls and he had arranged some of the lighting to shine indirectly. Mild atmospheres, he liked. Nerik placed the teacup of lagga tea into the khlenai and headed out.

"What is the overall status of our mission?"

tr'Raith glanced questioningly up. "You're asking me?"

Nerik nodded. "I wish to know the welfare of the ship, erie."

"Well," he said, not moving from his command chamber's desk. "Repairs shall be more than done in engineering and--"

"I'm talking about advisement on the mission, the ship is fine."

"The way I recall, Arrain, au, the officer, auethn."

He was silent.

Raith sighed and leisurely, rolled back into his seat. "Since I was a jep'la in my mother's crib, I learned that trust is embraced and empowered, never gained. Do I have your trust tr'Nerik?"

"Of course erie."

"Then trust me on this, whatever Galae has you running around for, leave it. You are not the khellian on this ship Arrain."

Nerik sighed, knowing what little aqaintance was being thrown to waste, but it was necessary. Necessary investigation, necessary pending, necessary... "Please, I just want to know the spirits of what we're about to do."

"Arrain, this conversation has ended. I tell you know, there is nothing to worry."

T'Sulrin seems to differ, he said to Raith without saying anything.

A flash of light and he was blind. No wait, no he couldn't be.

"Watch where you are aiming that plasma torch Eredh," tr'Nerik harshly barked at an officer he knew to be tr'Latal.

"Sorry," the officer said, unaccustomed to the coarse hnak'rjha.

He shook it off and walked past the working Eredh. He headed into another corridor up to the doors of an officer's quarters and pressed the acknowledgement button.

"Who is it?" a voice came across as if from far away.

"The Political Officer."

"Enter."

Nerik walked through the entrance watching Arrain tr'Idran arranging some things. "Arrain," he said, acknowleding him.

"What brings you to my corner of the ship?" Idran continued dusting off a picture.

"The new q1ahien."

"Since when does morning apply to space?"

Nerik chuckled a little to himself and strolled in a little more, not to be intrusive, however. "No, it's just the new dawn i refer to, is of the Kalen. We're supposedly heading into some grand scheme-like mission and I've just come by to find your assessment. The naval advisor is not busy is he?"

"Well fellow Arrain, the advisor is mildly preoccupied." He set down the picture and thoughtfully looked at it.

"I just need some answers."

Tasrek turned around and thoughtfully looked at tr'Nerik. "Well Jarik," he said, stopping and walking over to the arrangement of cushionedd seats. "Be my guest just for this instance."

Nerik took out an ISD. "Let's start with tr'Raith. Now remember this is off the record. I want to know, what do you think of him?"
