SRR Ra`KalenChapter One Hundred-Fifty-Two:
Kandeen Voices Conserns
[Sometime after the first meeting...]

Kandeen sat on the lower bunk meditating. He had been at it for 1 hour already. It was a tedious task trying to concentrate on nothing while trying to ignore the pain from his head and chest. According to t`Ren, tr`Kuro had mutinied? and had assaulted him? These questions left the erie`Riov very alarmed and disturbed. Had the actions and the orders he gave warranted this misfortune? Maybe he needed to refreshen up on Rihannsu culture and such, and soon too before another misfortune happens.

The chrono on his wrist beeped softly, indicating the hour's turn into the next. He opened his eyes and made himself aware of the surroundings. His quarters, SNR tr`Isk, somewhere in Rihannsu space most likely. He unfolds his legs and stretched. A quick survey of his clothes compartment revealed a set of cleaned uniforms, which he assumed was to be used. Moving over to the bathroom, he cleaned himself and prepared himself for his duty shift.

[Briefing room, some hours later]

"...Philadelphia experiment... No matter! With my genius, we will be successful! Questions?"

Kandeen followed each word uttered by the science chief to the details. After each pause made by the science chief, he added some mental notes. Now, he had the chance to clear his ambiguities. Just as he was going to ask his first question..."Erien, I want to ask au if...", then the thought slammed his mind hard. He was just about to reveal part of his true identity to the crew. He pauses and felt every pair of eyes on him. "...you are completely sure of this experiment?". He swallows hard.

"There are variations but I'm sure I can work them out", was the answer witfully produced by the science chief.

"Menkha", Kandeen said and he sat down.

[After Kuro talks with Raith]

The erie`Riov noticed from the corner of his eye, that Kuro had walked out. He gave his 'assailant' a nod as the latter walked past. He felt stranged, he was supposed to feel resentment and possibly hatred towards Kuro but he couldn't give himself adequate reason. The lapse between his last view of the Kalen's oira and awakening in tr`Isk's medbay was still not recollected. He maintained his view until Kuro disappeared into the corridors before stepping in. His eyes met those of Raith's.

"Rekkhai, I have some concerns regarding this mission"

Raith> ::looks into Ryu's eyes:: can i help you erie`Riov?

Ryu> Rekkhai, I have some concerns regarding this mission ::he walks in and takes the seat opposite that of Raith's::

Raith> ::nods:: Such as? ::trails off- a slight sign of warning to his voice::

Ryu> Shouldn't we limit this encounter to a solely diplomatic nature Before sending in troops?"

Raith> ::reaches over the table and fiddles with some device on the table:: perhaps... but as it stands there are issues to be dealt with- regardless of target and diplomatic standing... we need some support here- and some of those targets are Imperial- so in the clear shooting range

Ryu> I don't think au would rate highly and it would not give much credit to the NRR if physical force is administered to what would be a delicate situation

Raith> ::nods:: the situation is beyond delicate...

Ryu> ::nods solemnly::

Raith> As you are not up to date on the situation I will inform au ...the lowlands have never been a stable area of Rihannsu space- originally they were inhabited by a few local races- all either enslaved or destroyed. Those locals are excluded from the colonial government- as are many factions of the civilian populace. Imperials are just as bad to the colonials... so we are looking at several forces converging here: Imperials, which Kuro and Kunto are going to take out targets with in.... Colonials, which au and I will investigate over suitability of support... Local rebel factions -the "natives"- we will look into as well And Rebel groups not native to the area

Ryu> Rekkhai, may I interject?

Raith>..::pauses:: ie, au may

Ryu> Maybe we can try to get a representative from all the factions, Imperial or colonial, and state our motives and objectives?

Raith> ::grins shaking his head:: au is a Lahooan-a... sorry my friend, au think like starfleet... how could I say: "we are here to kill au" to the Imperials? and say:" I intend to use these gathered peoples against au". the Locals are just as likely to kill the colonials on site... no we need to keep our alliances quiet

Ryu> I prefer a resort to violence as only a last and desperate action

Raith> ::nods:: Au and i are of.. different upbringings. I have never not used violence... perhaps your idea would work- but remember these are mostly Romulans we are going to deal with

Ryu> Well rekkhai, I have provided you with my view...that is all, unless you have any questions?

Raith> ::shakes his head:: I only wish to see au in action- I will call on au to help me maintain a chaotic balance between allegiance and treachery

Ryu> ::nods respectfully::

Raith> Is there anything I can do for au in the mean time? before we arrive in the system?

::shakes his head:: na, Rekkhai...I'm quite fine

men`kha ..::nods:: then if au excuse me... ::rises up :: I have some business to attend to

Ryu> ::stands acknowledgingly:: of course

And so the two officers leave the room...
