[SNR-Ts`Irk]
Raith had taken the short time after Ragarok's visit to catch up on
some paperwork- and was almost finished when an old friend arrived.
Major t`Ren was not in a good mood and mostly spent her time shouting at the Enarrain about his trooper's ((mostly Kuro's)) lack of control and respect. Raith really didn't want to deal with the issue but, as Ren was the closest thing to a mother he had, he put up with it. The
conversation was fast and, on Ren's side, heated - a few ISDs,
fortunately from the 'finished' pile, met their demise on the ranting
woman's knee.
Half an hour later the situation is dispersed by Ragarok's
re-arrival and Ren being receiving com traffic from fleet command. Raith was having a hard time following Donal's train of thought and, as he can't read the mad scientist's mind, gives up and just tells him to test it first. If all this wasn't bad enough he was starting to get a head ache...
Raith> No no- you cant use all the fighters to power that thing...
Donal> but where else should I get auxiliary power from... the Plasma
torpedos? what if we need extra energy to maintain the experiment?
Raith> ::shakes his head as they walk down the hall:: sure- tap the
torpedos... ::looks over to see a grumbling t`Ren and directs Donal
down a different hall way::
Donal>::ponders the idea a second:: perhaps that isn't such a bad idea...
Raith completely ignores Donal as he continues to think out loud and lets his mind wander aimlessly for the duration of their walk. Upon
arrival at the Briefing room the science chief splits off to set up his
lecture while the Enarrain stands outside. Had he been paying attention, Raith would have been disturbed by the shouts of 'Oops!' and 'Well.. maybe that wont happen if we try it next time...'. But he wasnt paying attention and had probably given the Erien free leave to do whatever he chose and not even noticed. He almost missed the hesitant ship wide page for all the officers to report to the Briefing room...
[After Ragarok's Lecture during the Briefing]
Raith> ::sits stunned:: {{I just gave my consent to do this?... Elements the Enriov is going to have me for this one...}}
Kuro> rekkhai? ::waits for the rest of the crew to have left::
Raith> Ie...::noticeably not paying much attention::
Kuro> As our insertion method is... has it really been decided to do
this?
Raith> ::brings himself back to reality:: ..ie. Unfortunately it has
been. Is your force prepared?
Kuro> ::nods:: Elq and Remi were planning on taking several shuttles in
and running the gauntlet while the Ts`Irk drew enemy fire... I don't see how that will work now though.
Raith> ::shrugs:: Have Remi ask Donal- I'm not certain of the full
limitations his plan entails.
The two old soldiers spend a few moments running through specific
strategy then leave to complete their respective tasks.
