SRR Ra`KalenChapter One Hundred-Fifty:
Ragarok's Staff-Briefing
[SNR-Ts`Irk]

Donal paced the briefing room nervously. Just an hour ago Raith had given tr'Ragarok an assignment. And in the space of an hour the chief of science had: worked on a theory to solve the problem, gotten a warning from Raith about calling unnecessary senior staff meetings, ran his calculations through the computers, set up experiments on rodents to test his theory, went to engineering to prepare the systems for implementation of his "experiment", and prepared a lecture with accompanying visuals. Now, he was watching as crew members filed into the briefing room, asking questions about why they were there. Finally, Raith entered saying something about how "t'Ren was outside grumbling". As Raith sat down, Ragarok scanned the room. Not everyone was there, but it was enough. He pushed a button to bring up a 3 dimensional representation of the Ts'Irk.

"Good day, clas... I mean fellow crew members. The reason we are here is to discuss my next experiment. Raith postulated that I invent a way to get the ship past the orbital defense platforms, be able to beam large numbers of people down, and be able to escape when need be. Now, a frontal assault is obviously unfeasible, and a cloak would not only not (easily) allow transports, but also runs the risk of being detected by a tachyon net."

Ragarok looked around. The staff sitting there was obviously getting bored. Quick, you fool! Donal thought, move on to the best part before you lose them! His voice immediately rose several octaves.

"That is why I have devised the Ragarok Temporal Cloak! (Soon to be trademarked, all rights reserved). This alteration will use the cloaking device emitters to envelop the Ts'Irk in chroniton particles, which will be calculated to the right frequency and dispersal to continuously push the Ts'Irk one nanosecond in the future." The assembled crewmembers began to shift uneasily: time travel. Time travel could make even the most bloodthirsty warrior uneasy. The 3D display of the Ts'Irk vanishing in front of them did not help matters. Ignoring the disruption but raising his voice slightly, the Vaed'Rehai continued.

"Since we will continuously be traveling, we will not be able to be detected visually or by sensors. Since we will have our own time frame, transporting to the surface will still be possible. There are a few stipulations, however. The chroniton generation should not be cut off under any circumstances without me present! I will need to perform precise on the spot calculations to ensure the ship does not exist within three different time frames. Secondly, no cloaking, warp drive, or weapons fire. That is, unless someone has a desire to get hit with our own torpedo last week? Thirdly, there is a _slight_ chance (somewhere between 17.4 to 59.39 percent) of long term side effects to the ship. I even performed some tests beforehand, and performed a slight bit of research. It seems that scientists on Earth attempted something similar to this centuries ago, called the Philadelphia Experiment. And if primitives can do it, it must work now! Wait... everyone died at the Philadelphia experiment... No matter! With my genius, we will be successful! Questions?"
