SRR Ra`KalenChapter One Hundred-Seventeen: Insurection--Spy Game
[Elsewhere...]

Tyrone Kirk walked along the corridors of the RES Ju`lang, his personal flagship of the RRF (Romulan Rebel Fleet). After going to the UCIP Super-Station, he recruited 'Judge' Payne to his cause. What confused Kirk somewhat was the fact that even though Payne said he would help Kirk, he also said that when it was all over, he'd turn him over to proper authorities.

Kirk had recruited 2 of the 3 he tried to get. Veela, the Bajoran teenage 'healer', was quite upset with the things he had done. Nokall and Payne, though, were prepared to help the man who they knew either long ago, or when Kirk was a different man.

The Ju`lang had rendezvoused with the CCS (Central Command Ship) Rumale, a Cardassian warship, and picked up tr`Ghire and t`Kleir. The five of them now were in the transporter room, preparing to beam down to the Romulan planet Tesrek, to attempt to steal records of the positions of all Romulan ships in the area, and then set the building aflame.

Upon beaming down, Kirk took note of the pleasant surroundings: tall, bright green-leafed trees, beautiful layers of grass, and the occasional bright blue lake that you could perfectly see your reflection in. If the circumstances were different, this place would be thought of as a shore leave, but this operation was completely the opposite.

Kirk's 'bird watching' was interrupted by immense coughing from Payne.

"Are you alright?" asked t`Kleir, going over to him.

Payne smiled, speaking in his slight American southern accent, "I've never felt better, darlin'"

Kirk walked past the two, leading the group of five. "He has tuberculosis"

Payne continued smiling at t`Kleir, who blinked, as she followed her father.

tr`Ghire watched t`Kleir closely from behind, as Nokall took position beside him.

"Quite the sight, isn't she?" Nokall whispered quietly to tr`Ghire.

"I will take your word for it" replied tr`Ghire, bluntly, as usual.

"So tell me, my dear friend, wh-*cough...cough cough*-where are we going to enter this monster of a building?" asked Payne, as t`Kleir scanned the area for lifesigns.

"I'll let you know" replied Kirk, as he got a negative from t`Kleir on the scan, and continued walking.

Four hours passed as the group walked, and they had avoided 5 Romulan patrols. Now kneeling and sometimes crawling, Kirk suddenly stopped, giving the motion to the rest to stop as well, as Payne coughed, falling backwards, and applying a handkerchief to his mouth. t`Kleir went over to help him.

Kirk turned to Nokall and tr`Ghire. "Are you ready?"

"I think so," replied tr`Ghire, "I just need to lock onto the sight"

"600 meters Northeast" said Nokall.

"Ie, I know"

"Are au sure au are alright?" asked t`Kleir to Payne, helping him sit up straight.

Payne smiled. "Of course I am"

He began coughing again.

"Ready" said tr`Ghire.

"OK, everybody get ready" said Kirk, as he nodded to tr`Ghire, who pressed a button, and the five beamed away...

The complex was enormous. The party had beamed themselves into the boiler room. A quick security sweep showed them to be alone.

"Alright. Payne, Nokall, go to the security room, it's only a few corners away from here. Take out the guards, and hold the room, I don't want anybody seeing us. t`Kleir, tr`Ghire, once you get the go-ahead from Payne and Nokall, make your way to the records room. After securing the area, begin downloading everything you can, starting with the military orders for this sector" Kirk said.

Payne coughed, and then smiled. "And where will you be while we are off risking our lives for your little tea party?"

"I will be securing the control center, and once you're done, will be setting the self-destruct on this building"

Nokall smiled. "Well then! I suppose I *was* a bartender for too long, and it's time for me to return to my roots"

"Alright, let's go..."
