SRR Morrahe`VnuChapter Eighty: DT's black balls of Death
[On the Empress' Time Weapon....]

After the Imperial passes them by, Rylan lightly punches DT in the arm and says low, "What'd au go and wave at him for? Au trying to draw attention to us or something?"

"I'm just trying to fit in, Rylan..." D`Tarik answers indignantly, rubbing the arm that Ry had hit.

Ry, continuing on down the corridor, shakes his head at this and tries to smooth back his unruly hair, trying to make it look more like the 'traditional' hairstyles around them...and failing miserably. "Fitting in with Imperials...au don't do that by being friendly, au know."

"Anyway..." D`Tarik continues on, "It had it's reasons." he almost smiles, "Did au na notice me bump his leg when I waved?"

"Na, why?" Ry smirks, "What'd au lift?"

"I didn't lift anything..." D`Tarik shrugs, "Just causing a bit of a distraction on this level..."

"I don't get it." Rylan looks at him blankly, "So au waved and bumped into a guy's leg." he shrugs, "How's that causing a distraction?" The small group rounds a corner of the corridor, and Rylan pauses a moment to read the signs along the way.

DT holds up an empty needle with a silver canister attached to the end of it. "Wait for it...." he says quietly. Suddenly in the background, the group hears a shout of 'They're everywhere!!!' followed by several disruptor blasts.

Curious by this, Rylan peers back around the corner they had just come around, to find the Imperial that DT had waved at, shooting off his disruptor. One of the blasts hit one of his fellow officers. "What'd au shoot him up with DT?" Rylan looks at the smaller boy with a raised brow and pulls back around the corner again, continuing on their way, "That guy just took out io of his own au know..."

"Here, take this.... in case somebody really ticks us off." DT doesn't answer Rylan's question at all, just hands him an odd looking kalen that has a bigger handle then Ry's own, and the blade is wider and thicker as well. "Don't drop it..." D`Tarik instructs, "And don't accidentally press that green button until the kalen is in somebody, okay?"

Accepting the kalen, Rylan looks it over curiously as the group continue on down the corridor, Yhylk glancing at the scans once in a while and keeping his ear open for reports from the other team or the Wildstrike. Ry turns the kalen over and over in his hand a moment, then shakes his head, "It's na as sharp as my own blade, DT." he frowns slightly as he bounces it a couple of times in his palm, "And it's na weighted properly....what's the green button for?"

Seeing the look of curious intent on Ry's face as he asked about the green button, DT warned again, "DON'T press it until it's in somebody...okay?" he takes a breath, "And it only has one use....be careful with it."

Rylan still examined the kalen as DT spoke. The dagger sounded like it was full of liquid...and there was something else inside the kalen attributing to the odd weight of the weapon. He could hear it...but couldn't identify it. Shrugging, he puts the kalen in his belt. "Fine, fine, fine." He answers DT's warnings. After a long pause he turns his face towards the smaller male as his own brow rose slowly, "But what's it do?"

"It's something I originally designed to remove shrapnel." D`Tarik explains, "It didn't work out that way....." he paused a moment, "It was too aggressive for that job."

Grinning, Rylan nods, "It blows people up, au mean."

"Na." D`Tarik shakes his head, "It doesn't exactly do that. Just... trust me. Use it on somebody au *really* dislike."

"Would've liked to test it out on the Klingons awhile back...that would've been perfect." Ry says almost wistfully, "Have anything that might possibly get some info off a terminal around here, DT?" he asks, stepping into a lift.

"Maybe...but that's na really my field." D`Tarik answers back, stepping in behind Ry.

"I have some computer experience, rekkhai..." tr`Yhylk finally speaks up as he too enters the lift, "but probably am na good enough to get anything in a place like this..."

"There are two life signs heading this way...." D`Tarik suddenly warns, making the other two lower a hand to their pistols and wait with baited breath. Then after a moment DT adds, "Never mind, they just went into a room."

Shaking his head, Rylan grumbles, "We need to find something out...a sci lab, anything at this point! We can't just wander the halls aimlessly." He trails off to think a moment, "Deck...." he pauses, then grins "Computer core!" Turning to Yhylk, he asks for confirmation of his own thought, "If we can get in there, we can just take data rods out, right?"

"Yeah, I think..." tr`Yhylk nods uncertainly.

Sighing, Rylan leans against the walls of the lift, "Well, that's a plan of action at least. Just need to figure how to sneak in there without causing a fuss..."

"Okay." D`Tarik nods, "So what's the plan?"

Rylan shrugs at this, "That *was* my plan. Find the computer data rods...steal them... mess around with a few systems...get out. That's it." he turns to look at D`Tarik hopefully, "Anything au can do to knock them out?"

"Look who your talking to, Rylan..." D`Tarik smirked in answer.

"Ie! That's what I thought!" Ry grins and slaps him lightly on the back. Nodding at the lab coat, he asks as the lift doors open, "So what do au have hidden in there then?" As DT searches around in the lab coat pockets, Rylan peeks out at the corridor, then steps out, walking like he has a purpose down the hallway. D`Tarik, still searching around in his lab coat, does a really bad job of looking like an Imperial, while Yhylk marches behind the two officers, trying to look as Imperial as he can.

Waiting until the three have passed out of the ear shot of a couple of real Imperials, Rylan asks Yhylk quietly, "Any further messages from the ship?"

"Na much, rekkhai..." Yhylk whispers back, "They're fighting to stay alive out there. Something about a mysterious Ra`Kalen helping out..."

"Reinforcements? Well ie, that's a good thing! Now, if we can just manage to pull this off...." he pauses to tug at his collar a bit and grumbles to himself, "Too much starch..." After a few more minutes of wandering the halls, Rylan finally spots the door they've been searching for, but walks by it. "Okay DT...now would be a good time to find that whatever it is so we can get in there."

"Find whatever what is...?" D`Tarik asks, a confused look on his face.

"Ninte knock out explosive mutating junk." Yhylk pipes in.

Frowning a bit, Rylan stops a little down the corridor and leans up against the wall. "Yeah..." he nods at Yhylk, "What he said. Au said au had something, DT..."

"Well, there's a lot of stuff I can use." D`Tarik explains, "We just want to knock them out?" he looks from one officer to another.

Ry shrugs and waves the air with a hand, "Or kill them. Whatever. Just as long as it won't effect us when we go in there. Or set off any alarms."

"And that won't kill us when we go in there." Yhylk repeats, just to make sure it was perfectly clear to the biologist.

"Fine...here." D`Tarik removes a little palm-sized black ball from one of his pockets and holds it out. "This will work. Kill them fast, and will go away after a few seconds."

Rylan nods, still leaning against the wall, but makes no move to accept the ball in D`Tarik's out stretched hand. "Well... go on then." he grins slightly as Yhylk also takes a few steps back, "It's ninte weapon...au know how to use it."

"Just squeeze it, then toss it." D`Tarik explains, looking as if he thought the other two were suffering from momentary stupidity. He sighs and heads toward the door to the computer core, "Like this..." He squeezes the ball as the doors opened, then let it roll on the floor and into the room. Coming back to the other two, he says, "Let's wait about a surien."

Rylan looks to his chrono. After a minute had passed he nods at DT, "Okay...go on in there..."

The earlier 'it's ninte weapon' thing dawns on DT, and he looks curiously at Rylan. "Au don't trust me...." he pauses to think about this a second when Rylan didn't answer. Nodding, D`Tarik steps towards the computer core again, "I'll go in first..." he slightly rolls his eyes and steps into the room, and pauses to glance at all the bodies on the ground. They all had died clutching their throats.
