[SRR Aylhr, Rihannsu Neutral Zone]
"Rekkhai, we are approaching the co ordinates of the Sentaire. Reh
estimate we will be there in ten suiren." Arrain tr'Randuiel called
out from the Gonaii station.
"Very well, Gonaiih, fall into formation with the other ships,"
erie'Riov Conn'Hae i'Caernu tr'Rok ordered, "Khhae'Saehne, hail the
Sentaire, Reh wish to speak with their Leih."
Sitting back in the Command Throne, Conn'Hae watched as Farien
t'Charon headed off the Oira. The Hddael'Ifvehhr'Saehne stood at his
Strategic Console checking on the positions of the other ships of the
3rd Strike Wing. Shortly the viewscreen changed and the face of
EnArrain tr'Pausinaus, of the SRR Sentaire, replaced the view of his
nearing ship.
Pleasantries were short and formal, as was the Rihannsu way. Conn'Hae
requested an update on the t'Rakla's current position.
"Rekkhai, the vessel hasn't moved in some time. We are presuming that
she has suffered some form of system wide failure caused by the
thieves lack of understanding of superior Rihannsu technology and is
now stranded on the border. Our long range scans have been unable to
discern anything further about the Enemies of the Republic
responsible for the murders of our heroic Gekkha." The Leih of the
Sentaire stated formally.
Conn'Hae knew why as well seeing the black uniform of a Tal'Shiar
Agent sitting at the right hand of the Leih, on the other side of his
Rhaetelh'Saehne. The was a famous tradition of rivalry between the
Nraehhi'Saehne-a and Rhaetelh'Saehne-a of the Galae, each vying for
the attention of the unfortunate Leih who sat in between the two.
"Mnekha, EnArrain. Au will receive instructions from my
Hddael'Ifvehhr'Saehne to form up on our flank. When we move off, we
will be going in fast and deadly. Au will await further orders."
Conn'Hae ended the conversation with a curt nod. The Dheno'Saehne on
the Amnei Console closed the channel without an order and the view of
the Sentaire, and the other two K'Sejnik class ships of the Scout
Squadron, returned to the viewscreen, much closer now.
Arrain tr'Rok didn't need instruction to form a battleplan in his
head. If the t'Rakla remained without its vital systems then the
whole mission would be over before it had begun, a swift and deadly
retribution for the massacre at Koahht Versailles. But then he was
still ready to err on the side of caution, his long years of
experience tell him that more than once ships had merely played dead
only to turn on an unprepared starship and destroy it. Thuryn
chuckled to himself, Areinnye, he'd even done it himself back in his
Agency days.
Conn'Hae sat contemplating the situation. Once upon a time a Rihannsu
Leih would have thought very little of running across the border with
the Federation to destroy an enemy. But, so close after the War he
had no intention of ruining a career, and perhaps restarting
tensions, already as high as they had ever been, merely because he
failed to request permission. It was possible that the Galae'Tho
command back on Coriel would refuse him permission to cross, or
perhaps they were awaiting word themselves from yet higher authority.
If this were the case then it was possible the new crew of the
t'Rakla would solve their problems and have the Warbird away at high
warp leaving the Aylhr and it's small squadron stranded.
