[SRR Aylhr]
The elder tr'Rok had a remarkable ability to annoy the younger rihan. Jaroks
pleasure at never having to have to lay eyes on the miserable Aaenhr'Erinyes
colony ever again had been quickly taken away by the demands of an obviously
powered crazed old rihan. The Arrain's constant demands for ship operational
status and other information that Jarok was neither able, nor willing to
give to the older rihan.
The amount of information that had simply 'gone missing' after the death of
the previous Ifvelhr'Saehne, Arrain t'Kiirlh, was substantial. Of course the
department had lost files. In the fight against the t'Rakla and the
subsequent explosion, many kiloquads of data and all that was being worked
on before the consoles main power conduit exploded had been destroyed. Jarok
was surprised at the amount though as almost an hour of electronic
survelliance and transporter logs independent of the battle had strangely
disappeared.
That Arrain t'Kiirlh would be missed was an understatement. She had
controlled and personally overseen every aspect of ship operations since the
Aylhr's conception and each of her comprehensive reports had attested to her
devotion to her work. Another sign that something was amiss with the data
that somehow had simply vanished something that would never have occured
under t'Kiirlh's watchful gaze.
Jarok worked with the awaenndraev'iahwil to repair the damaged isolinear
pathway's all through their voyage to see the Ael'Riov at ch'Coriel, but
failed attempt after attempt to restore the information which he was sure
had been deliberately erased had increased Jarok's determination to find out
what had occured in these lost portions of memory. Had his duties not had
confined him to the bridge, he would have attempted to repair the system
himself. But the universe was far from perfect.
Too far from perfect as the pleasure at seeing his leih publicly humiliated
and then executed had not come to pass. Whatever had traspired between the
replacement of the Ael'Riov, one Riov Linnus S'Illialhlae, had had them
recalled to ch'Rihan to see the Khre'Riov and the emerald green home of all
rihannsu.
But those were concerns for the future, for now he would have to report the
full extent of the damage to tr'Khola, but was surprised to find the
engineering report had already been done and was waiting for him the first
day of his duty shift, along with recommended saehne to aid him in this
task. Mnekha. Jarok doubted if he could stand another face to face
confrontation with tr'Khola and he believed that the feeling was mutual. It
was strange that the Daise'Paectum would grant such a large amount of aid to
him, but he suspected that it was tr'Khola's duty to do so, even if his
emotions told him otherwise.
Jarok had simply ignored the request by the Hdael`Ifvelhr`Saehne for a
report on the Leih-a activities during their retrieval of t'Lhoell and
t'Hoth, not that he would have told the elder rihan anything anyway but as
for his request for the report on tr'Paya, Jarok deemed it acceptable. He
was also interested in how the Khre'Riov would react to the supposition's of
a traitor.
He found very little information on the Khre'Riov, this would not please the
ira'draes, not that Jarok cared about pleasing the elder tr'Rok. Many of the
files required high level authorization, that of the Tal'Diann or
Nraehhi'Saehne. Neither of these Jarok possessed and he wished not to test
the limits of his access.
Jarok raised an eyebrow. One of the things he was able to discover was their
gonaiih'saehne, t'Lhoell, had been the aide-de-camp to the then Vaek'riov
tr'Paya. tr'Rok would find such things of interest being a treacherous old
rihan like the Arrain. He continued his investigation at a much more
vigorous rate.
Anything pertaining to the Khre'Riov's early history was classified. His
activities ranged from his appointment and subsquent removal as Vaek'Riov
of the rhi'Galae. He had been replaced by Vaek'Riov i-jhe'Rihk tr'Nairrehk
and erie'Riov Faikaru tr'Thrai under amicable circumstances. Well, so said
the report of the incident. As was his appointment as overseer of the Belian
and Coriel systems.
It was his actions during the Lloann'su akh that had captured the attention
and hearts of the Rihannsu Senate. Khre'Riov Risek tr'Paya was one of the
genius architects of the victory and conquest of Eternity during the end
days of the war. This single event had made him a empire wide hero, as he
should be. The events at Eternity even now were almost legendary. The jewel
of the Federation had been snatched from their very lap, despite their
attempts to hold it.
His most recent appearance, albeit in holographic form at the Aaenhr'Erinyes
colony, was during the presentation of the Khellrea v'Mnhei'sahe Sagomh to
his former leih erie'Riov t'Manda.
He also discovered what seemed to be a life long dislike of one erie`Ssiebb
Rhenn, and also an intense opposition to the Tal'Shiar's constant "Shadow
War" they engaged in during the awarding of territories to the houses of the
Empire. Jarok frowned. This could be the key to helping the leih prove, or
at least give him time to prove that he was somehow innocent.
The empire no doubt wished to see the Daise'Erie'Riov dealt with quickly.
Not only that, but humiliated and blamed for the death's of countless
millions, real or imagined. It was most likely that the Tal'Shiar had
already engaged in its propaganda to discredit the leih, for without a
nraehhi'Saehne aboard, there was no way the leih could convince the
Tal'Shiar of his supposed innocence. It was most likely that the Khre'Riov
would undoubtedly listen to the Daise'erie'riov's story of events, than the
poisoned wispers of his Tal'Shiar associates. Jarok entered these comments
and recommendations into his report.
He entered the last few commands into the ISD, added the proper
authorization command sequence and turned to his ne'Saehne. He glared at the
younger officer and spoke in a low cold tone.
"Irea tivh i Hdael`Ifvelhr`Saehne. Hnarfirhn u'llai"
Jarok saluted and returned to his work. The junior officer returned the
salute hastily before departing, wondering if his adjunct post was
punishment or promotion.
