SRR AylhrChapter Thirty-Eight: In the Ready Room
[Leih's Ready Room, SRR Aylhr]

Dais'erie'Riov Conn'Hae i'Caernu tr'Rok was sitting silently at his desk when Arrain Thuryn tr`Rok pressed the entry chime on the door.

"Aefvadh!" he called as he looked up to see tr`Rok enter and walk smartly to the desk, saluting as he halted

"Jolan'tru Hru'hfirh (Head of House), What can Reh do for au?" the Leih asked as he got up and headed for the drinks table.

"Rekkhai reh am concerned about ninte safety, reh would ask of ninte talks with tr`Paya?" the Hhdael'Ifvelhr'Saehne replied

"Arham talks with the Khre'Riov? He merely wishes to question my actions over the t'Rakla incident." Conn'Hae said, trying to play down the possible implications of the meeting. He poured two glasses of water and handed one to Thuryn, "Ihhvein (Water, the Element) sustain us."

tr`Rok inclined his head slightly and looked at the younger man, "Reh na trust him, arham v'faelirh (My Son-in-Law)." he countered, drinking slowly from the glass.

Conn'Hae almost chuckled, he would have had the situation not been serious, deadly serious, "Reh do na trust the man either. Reh shall deliver the true report, that was given in secret to Ael'Riov tr'Ojadanus. But Reh do na think that will matter if it is na politically expedient for him to support arhva."

The aging Arrain placed his drink on the Leih's desk, "Reh do na approve of ninte attempt to lose the protector reh assigned au...." he said, knowing only too well that this statement might get him in trouble.

"Ninte disapproval is noted Hru'hfirh." The Leih said coldly, "As is ninte disobeying of arham orders at Codis. Reh have much more pressing matters to consider when Reh beam down to ch'Rihan.... Or should Reh say when WE beam down."

Thuryn tr`Rok smiled, "Au will na lose "that" protector then..." his face became serious again as he continued, "Au know reh act in the interest of the ship, the House and the Republic."

The Leih smiled slightly, having known nothing of the agent the Hhdael'Ifvelhr'Saehne had sent to follow him on Codis until now. "Reh do, Hru'Hfirh, and for that Reh hann'yyo. EnArrain t'Vrin can take care of the ship while we are planet side. Reh would have Farein t'Charon accompany us as Daise'Dheno'Saehne to the Aylhr."

"Ie Rekkhai." he said, pausing as though thinking of the words to use next, "There is another matter for t`Charon." producing an ISD and handing it to the Leih.

The Dais'erie'Riov studied the ISD. "Indeed, Will au summon her here?."

tr`Rok hit his comm unit, "tr`Rok to t`Charon report to the Leih's Ready Room."

As the reply came in, the Leih headed for the Replicator and pressed some buttons, then waited a moment before removing the object he replicated.

tr`Rok looked at the empty chair in front of Conn'Hae's desk, "With ninte permission, arham Leih?"

He waved him to the seat as he sat down himself, the pair waiting for the Daise'Dheno'Saehne to make her entrance.

Farein t'Charon headed up to the office from her position at the Amnei'Saehne-a console and paused for a moment standing outside as she straightened the imagined creases from her uniform. Clearing her throat she pressed the chime.

"Aefvadh!" came the answer and the door slid open. As she entered she saw Arrain tr`Rok sitting, his face set serious and dark.

The Leih waited for the Farein to compose herself, watching as she came to attention in front of his desk and saluted, "Au requested me, Rekkhai?"

"Ie, Farien," he replied as he stood up and moved around the desk to confront her, "The Arrain here has brought it to arham attention that au have completed the Phi'lasasam and ninte Farien tour is now complete." As he spoke he pinned a Rank pip to her Sash, noting that Thuryn's face broke into a smile.

His own face remained serious as he spoke again, "Daise'Erien t'Charon, Au are hereby charged with the duties that ninte new rank requires. Wear it with pride and carry on ninte duties for the Aylhr, and the Republic."

With this brief ceremony carried out he briskly saluted the newly promoted Saehne.

Daise'Erien t`Charon returned the salute, feeling in a state of shock, yet retaining the crispness the Phi'lasasam had taught her in all Drill manoueveres, "Hann'yyo Rekkhai." she said, her voice clear and formal as the situation warranted.

Dais'erie'Riov Conn'Hae i'Caernu tr'Rok moved less formally back around to his desk he returned to the previous topic of conversation, "Now, Reh have been summoned before the Galae'Leih. Au and the Arrain here shall accompany me down to the planet. Have the 'Dev' given shoreleave as well as the rest of the crew. But make sure all are on standby and have communicators with them at all times

The newly promoted Daise'Erien t`Charon turned to the Leih Ie rekkhai of course

"Good, That is all Daise'Erien." The Leih said abruptly, though his face was not harsh as he smiled slightly.

"At what time would au wish us to depart, Rekkhai?" Arrain tr'Rok said, halting t'Charon's turn with a slight gesture of his hand.

Conn'Hae looked at the chrono on the wall, "We should be In System within the hour. Give it another two before we pass through flight control. If au need any rest get it before 6. We shall depart in four hours."

The pair of Saehne-a nodded in unison as tr'Rok continued, "Dress uniforms?" he asked.

The Leih sighed, his head was beginning to ache and he wanted some rest before they left the ship, "Ie, Arrain, Dress uniforms. Reh do na expect this to be a pleasant meeting. It is advisable to look ones best in 'difficult' circumstances."

"Keran," the Arrain addressed t'Charon by her given name, "mnean have 8 lloann'su type 1 phasers in the dev store, they are easier to conceal than disruptors. Issue them to ninteself and some of the dev, na the Leih."

t`Charon smiled "Reh will na ask how au got them but hann'yyo."

Conn'Hae frowned as he thought about what Thuryn might have planned to use the disruptors for, "Dress Aleh-a (Blades) also. Ninte best scabbards." he said absentmindedly before joining the conversation proper, "If there is any need for 'phasers' Then we will already be dead."

tr`Rok grinned, "Then we will die after the Galae'Leih."

The Leih grimaced, he had little intention of doing anything other than what the Galae'Leih ordered him to do, "Reh will take whatever action the Galae'Lieh demands of arhva. There is more at stake that the Mnhei'Sahe of io Saehne. If the Lloann'na were to discover that the battle took place in their space...." he broke off, leaving the sentence unfinished.

"Then we will just have to make sure they do na find out." the Daise'Dheno'Saehne said conspiratorially.

tr`Rok picked up his meaning, his face returning to the seriousness that the situation demanded, "Ie Rekkhai." he said more formally than he had spoken before, nodding in obedience to his Leih's implied orders.

Conn'Hae nodded seemingly to both Saehne-a, "That will be arham highest priority, Daise'Erien. Now, enough of this talk, Reh shall deal with it when it happens. Na point in dwelling on it now. Au are dismissed, go about ninte duties then get some rest. Reh shall be in arham quarters presently. EnArrain t'Vrin and t'Lhoell are more than capable of dealing with Flight Control."

t`Charon saluted and turned to leave.

Arraintr`Rok bowed , "With ninte permission Rekkhai, Reh require to review training logs with the Daise.

"Permission granted, Hru'hfirh." was all Conn'Hae said as the pair headed for the door. He listened as it swished shut behind them and let out a long sigh.
