The Birthing Goddess

The Birthing Goddess doll is twelve inches.  She is drawn from Minoan, and other cultures that line the mediterranian.  The spiral snake on her belly(of blue seed beads) is used in many cultures to denote fertility and the 'circle of life' theme.  She wears a beaded bird mask which was associated with the goddess who gives rain and sun shine, very important elements in an agricultural society.
I created her for my first showing of my dolls, she represents to me my growing creativity and the hopes for my artistic and healing career.
