| Strewth stretched, yawning to herself as her rainbow eyes blinked in the bright sunlight streaming in from the opening of her weyr. Her dark green tail twitched behind her as she spread her snowy wings, then climbed to her feet. The green-white strode over to the opening of her stony home, peering down to the ground far below. Ariia and Reequin were trying to duck Setth's head underneath the surface of the lake, but the blue just stood still, watching their futile attempts with an amused look on his face. In one swift, sudden movement, the blue tossed both of the fifteen-year-olds into the water. He was drenched in the resulting splashes. Onlorenth was laughing at his brother's appearance, saying that it served him right for tossing the weyrbrats in in the first place. Ziath and Ranuroth watched in silence from the shore. Dreadeth was nowhere to be seen, of course; the black-white was probably off skulking in a dark hallway and scaring some poor human half to death. That just left Saveth. Strewth looked around, but didn't see her blue-white brother. Spreading her wings wide, she jumped off the ledge outside her weyr and dropped down to where the rest of her siblings were. "Good morning, Strewth." Reequin said, spitting water out of his mouth as he climbed out of the water, shooting a quick glare to the smirking Setth. Hello Reequin, Ariia. The green-white answered good-naturedly. She was very fond of the twins, as were the rest of her siblings. (With the notable exceptions of Saveth and Dreadeth; Saveth found them to be insufferable nuisances, and, well, Dreadeth just hated everyone.) "Guess what, Strewth?" Ariia piped up, blue eyes shing brightly. "Reequin 'n me have been searched! Mom and Dad said we could stand for a clutch at ________." She said excitedly. "We won't be leaving for a while yet, though." She added disappointedly. Strewth crooned reassuringly. Don't worry, you'll Impress eventually, both of you. And then the time will fly by. Ariia smiled up at her, and Reequin grinned a bit before glancing to the dragons. "What about you all?" He said. "You lot need to get out and bond too!" He said, grinning widely now. Ranuroth snorted, while the others looked thoughtful or doubtful. Onlorenth and I have already decided to go to Ryslen. Ziath pointed out. Setth rumbled a laugh, stealing a glance toward Dreadeth's weyr. Dreadeth's going to go to a special clutch at Lantessama Isle. He said slyly. Ariia raised an eyebrow, staring at the blue thoughtfully. "Oh? What makes you say that, Setth? Dreadeth doesn't want a bond, she's made that plain enough." She fixed him with her worst glare. Setth didn't even seem abashed at her suspicions. Oh, I did some...looking around. Her bond's rather interesting. He said nonchalantly. You timed it? Ziath asked disgustedly. You could get in a heap of trouble for that, Setth. "Timed it? Cool!" Reequin grinned, and Strewth glanced at him warningly. Don't get any ideas... The twins just grinned cheekily at her, adopting perfect looks of innocence. Strewth just rolled her eyes. Hmm...Starburst's back, you know. She said thoughtfully. There's a clutch on the sands, too. Gold-Green Emynth. She laughed, realizing that the mother of the clutch was their grandmother. Ziath snorted. You do know that if you Impressed from that clutch, you'd be bonding to your own aunt or uncle? She said dryly. Ranuroth snorted. Well, it's not like we aren't already inbred, our parents are siblings. The brown said wryly. Besides, we're dragons, since when are we supposed to care about bloodlines? Ariia and Reequin looked perplexed, having not heard any of the last part of the conversation, and Strewth laughed. I'll take Saveth with me. He needs to get out, anyway. I do? Saveth asked dryly as he walked up behind her. What's this about you dragging me off somewhere? Where? Why? He asked suspiciously. We're going to stand for the clutch at Starburst Weyr. Strewth said cheerfully. We? As in, you and me? As in, both of us? Yep! And don't even try to get out of it, Saveth. It's about time you settled down and Impressed. Saveth snorted. You're making it sound like human marriage or something. At the green-white's exasperated look, he sighed. Oh, alright then! I'll go with you. But just to make it clear, I don't intend to come back with a bond, alright? Strewth just smirked. We'll see about that. |
