ACT 22

Aired: 28th February 2004

Evil Mercury forms some water into a sword made of ice, and uses it to attack the other Guardians. She remembers who they are, but says that she wants to defeat them and become even stronger. Sailor Moon attempts to heal her using the Moonlight Stick, but it isn't powerful enough. Kunzite explains that the Great Evil has given Sailor Mercury power, and that there is no chance of her returning to normal. Before Mercury can attack again, Kunzite teleports her away. Secretly, Artemis is watching.

At Karaoke Crown, the girls and Luna look at the mittens Ami made for everyone. Each one of them blames herself for the current situation. Mainly, they regret spending so much time apart recently, and neglecting their friendships, especially with Ami, who was often left alone at Karaoke Crown. We also see Mamoru and Hina eating a meal together. They discuss the promise Mamoru made to Hina's father, to study abroad and marry her.

Usagi arrives at school to find that Ami has brainwashed everyone so that she wouldn't have to miss school. Ami tells Usagi to watch her back. With no one to eat lunch with, Usagi goes onto the roof. As she sits there with Luna, Artemis appears and tells them that if Mercury is their enemy, they have to fight her. When the other girls are informed, everyone is as reluctant to do that as Usagi.

A monster attacks the theme park that Makoto and Ami were at in the previous episode. The girls arrive and transform to fight it, and when Sailor Moon is alone, she sees Ami on the merry-go-round. Ami transforms into Dark Mercury and challenges Sailor Moon. All of them end up in a room that at first is barely lit, and then is revealed to contain a stage with a large rainbow in the background. Jupiter and Mars fight the monster, with little success, while Sailor Moon refuses to fight against Mercury. Sailor Mercury attacks, but Sailor Venus has arrived, and blocks it. Sailor Venus fights against Mercury (unsuccessfully), and tries to convince Sailor Moon that she should too. However, Sailor Moon instead reverts back into Usagi. She gets out the pink mittens Ami made her, apologises for leaving Ami alone, and tries to talk her into stopping this.

Mercury is unaffected by Usagi's heartfelt speech (she slashes the mittens in two), and Usagi silently begins to cry. Her tear merges with her brooch, and light begins to emanate from it. As the light spreads and fills the room, Usagi instantly becomes Sailor Moon again, the monster is destroyed, and the other Guardians are healed. Evil Mercury appears to be on the verge of turning back into the friendly Ami that Usagi knows, but Kunzite takes her back to the Dark Kingdom before she is healed. Sailor Moon is exhausted, and Sailor Venus explains what just happened: Sailor Moon's powers have awoken a little more. She tells them to remember their powers, and walks away. Jupiter picks up the mittens from the floor, which were also fixed. Moon, Mars and Jupiter resolve to get Ami back.

Important Events:
- The Moonlight Stick is not powerful enough to heal Mercury. Kunzite explains that the Great Evil has given Sailor Mercury power, and that there is no chance of her returning to normal.
- Kunzite presents Mercury to Queen Beryl, who is not confident about the idea of using a Sailor Guardian to help the Dark Kingdom. He suggests that she is a replacement for Zoisite, the missing member of the Four Heavenly Kings.
- An aspect of Evil Mercury's personality is made apparent: She doesn't seem too pleased about being told what to do, or respecting authority figures.
- The girls blame themselves for Mercury having been captured and turned evil. Mainly, they regret spending so much time apart recently, and neglecting their friendships, especially with Ami, who was often left alone at Karaoke Crown.
- Hina asks Mamoru if he is happy to keep his promise to her father to study abroad and marry her even though he is searching for his past. He hesitates before saying that he won't break his promise.
- Jadeite and Kunzite discuss whether Sailor Venus is really the Princess. At the very least, they know for a fact that the other Guardians believe she is the Princess.
- Kunzite comments on how Nephrite only looks at what's in front of him, and not the big picture. Kunzite suggests that he and Jadeite should work together.
- Sailor Venus and Artemis try to convince the other Guardians that they have to fight against Sailor Mercury; she is their enemy now. The others are not thrilled with this idea.
- Some of Sailor Moon's power awakens: A healing power that is so strong it can even fix ripped mittens.
