Rei continues to be reluctant to be part of the team, something Usagi finds somewhat disappointing. However, Rei senses a monster and joins Usagi and Ami at a Halloween party, where everyone who is searching for the Silver Crystal - the Sailor Guardians, Tuxedo Mask and Nephrite - have gathered because they are all curious about the legendary Blue Crystal that will be unveiled there. Usagi has an encounter with Tuxedo Mask while wearing a huge bear costume, and Ami and Rei get to know each other a little better. The three Sailor Guardians end up working together to defeat Nephrite's monster, by timing their attacks to Minako Aino's single. Nephrite steals the Blue Crystal, but Sailor Moon gets it back and in the process falls off the building they're on, with Tuxedo Mask trying to rescue her but instead falling as well. They are saved by the Moonlight Stick and have a romantic little scene as they float down... but when Tuxedo Mask confirms to himself that the Blue Crystal is not the Silver Crystal, it becomes clear that Tuxedo Mask could be the Sailor Guardians' enemy.

- It is made clear that Jadeite's mission is to collect energy (which he isn't doing very well at, hence Queen Beryl isn't too happy with him) and Nephrite's mission is to find the Silver Crystal
- Ami and Rei meet Mamoru for the first time, and later see Tuxedo Mask for the first time
- Ami and Rei discuss the fact that the idea of becoming part of a team could be scary, and Rei mentions that things like friends and family eventually break apart, and they always have done (Hmm...)
- Usagi and Tuxedo Mask's romantic encounters in this episode are worthy of note, even if the crucial scene from the anime and manga wasn't included
- The Sailor Guardians discover that Tuxedo Mask is also looking for the Silver Crystal
- Tuxedo Mask suggests that since he and the Sailor Guardians are looking for the same crystal, they could be enemies (although only Luna seems concerned about this)
- Rei comes round to the idea of being part of the Sailor Guardians, and also she likes Usagi and Ami enough that she's happy to have a party with them (as long as no karaoke is involved)
