Morane - Saulnier MS 35 ***

The very first aircraft that entered production in October 1927 was the French Morane - Saulnier MS 35 trainer produced under license, although an order for 43 Potez XXV light bombers / reconnaissance aircraft had already been issued by the DSA (" Directia Superioara a Aeronauticii " - meaning "The Supreme Aeronautics Department").

The aircraft was pretty much obsolete even when the first one rolled out the assembly line, but 30 of them were completed nonetheless and delivered to the ARR in 1928. It remained in service until the mid 30's, when the remaining planed were scrapped.
The MS-35 was a traditional two-seat biplane, made out of wood and fabric. Its wings had a parasol configuration, and it was powered by a Gnome - Rhone, nine cylinder, rotary engine, generating some 80 HP. Many ARR pilots flew for the first time in the MS-35.
