SUMMARY:

I have over twenty years of technical and management skills. I have over twelve years of extensive experience in managing Client/Server and LAN infrastructures. I currently maintain a 1.4 million dollar infrastructure to include: installing, configuring and troubleshooting the organization's Ethernet Local Area Network (LAN), TCP/IP (four subnets), 100Mb backbone, 10Mb switched to the desktop, concentrator (Bay Networks, Cisco), switches, hubs, connectors, seven servers, two 25 bay CD-Net Towers, one 14 bay CD-Net Tower, Xerox Reproduction System (OCR/Printer), 60 printers, Microsoft (MS) Exchange Mail, MS Office suite Professional edition, MS NT Workstation version 4, MS NT 2000 Workstation, MS Windows 95/98, MS NT Server version 4, Veritas WinINSTALL, ClickNET, Oracle/MS SQL (Limited knowledge), Interim Work Information Management System, Automated Civil Engineering System RDBMS, system backups, and associated network hardware and software in support of base civil engineering activities for 13 remote sites and 225 clients. I am also the Computer Security System Officer and Computer Aided Design Drafting Administrator (CAD).

MANAGEMENT AND COMMUNICATION:

· Recommended and implemented Veritas WinINSTALL to perform software installations and upgrades. Automating software loads from a central point on a Microsoft NT server has saved the organization over $100,000 dollars in labor over the past year.

· Organized vehicle fleet delegation for the 1990 World Economic Summit and installed a Local Area Network in support of the Transportation Department. Solved numerous technical and logistical problems with the White House Communication Staff. Received a Joint Service Achievement Medal and a certificate of excellence from President George Bush and the Secretary of Defense Dick Cheney.

· Hand picked by the 12th Civil Engineering Commander to represent the organization, which led to the winning of the coveted Curtin Award for Best Civil Engineering Organization in the United States Air Force. Led a six-person team, providing the organization with technical assistance, graphic and CAD support and briefing material. Received a certificate of excellence for stellar performance.

· Managed the migration of a 1.5 million dollar database from a Wang VS at Randolph Air Force Base (AFB) to the Regional Processing Center at Gunter AFB. Air Force Air Education Training Command Civil Engineering Head Quarters noted this was the best implementation to date.

· Supervised the preparation, movement, and installation of a 1.4 million dollar computer system into Civil Engineering's new 6 million dollar facility at Brooks AFB. Operations restored within 72 hours.

· Developed a multi-task telecommunications network connecting a $500,000 prototype Computer Aided Design system, a 1.4 million dollar Wang VS Mini Main Frame and a $300,000 client/server operation, utilizing software applications within the organization, saving $15,000 annually.

· Standardized AutoCAD applications across the LAN for clients greatly reducing the organization's Total Cost of Ownership resulting in an annual savings of $50,000.

· Researched and installed a $15,000 Vidar OCR scanner and software to digitize 40,000 flat files. Saved $250,000 utilizing current technology and manpower within the organization.

PERSONAL STRENGTHS:

I have excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills. I was chosen by my Squadron Commander to act as a personnel troubleshooter, working with other departments to increase morale and productivity with great success. This was evident when the organization received an overall EXCELLENT in an Operational Readiness Inspection. The Support Group Commander, Squadron Commander and Chief of Operations commended me for my superior leadership skills. I am loyal, professional and I love the challenges that personnel and technology bring to my work. I am involved in various community projects such as Habitat for Humanities and school mentoring programs.
