A circus carriage containing the Bloom family -Mother, Father, Young Daughter Catherine, and Infant Son Triton - is hit with a bomb. The explosion throws the baby from the carriage. Young Catherine stood over the wreck crying.
A.C. 183
A young boy three years of age stood in a field looking up at the night sky. His clothes anfd face are dirty. His hair is starting to act like Trowa's. The boy said, "Space...I bet it's better then being here."
A captain pulled up in a truck and asked the boy his name. The boy shook his head.
"No, name?" said the Captain, "Come here. We'll at least feed you."
A.C. 190
A young boy ten years of age is part of a mercenary unit. He has been in it since he was old enough to understand his surroundings. He has no name and is called Nanashi-(No Name).
He meets a young blonde girl named Midii Une in a forest, she wears an electronic device around her neck. Instead of shooting her Nanashi tells her there is work available for her. "Why did you save me?" she asked. "Because were the same" replied Nanashi.
Midii gave Nanashi a cross for helping her; she said,
"Wear this and God will protect you. But you know what...? I hate you.
The mercenary unit left the area they were in. Nanashi and Midii were in a truck with the captain. They passed a circus and Nanashi looked at it.
"Does it bring back memories?" asked Midii.
"No. Why?"
"You looked like you were remembering."
"There's nothing to remeber. I've been a soldier since I was born."
Catherine Bloom stood among the circus and saw the trucks going by,
"Hurry and get out of here! Your an eyesore!" she called.
Nine years ago a bombing raid took the lives of her parents and infant brother.
She hated War ever since.
Nanashi saved the Captain from being killed by some traitors among the unit. He shot them in their mobile suits before they got the Captain in his.
The traitors had been Nanashi's comrades and helped raise him.
"I have no regrets," said Nanashi,
"I kill the enemy I see before me. I'm only practicing what they taught me."
"You're not human are you?", asked the Captain.
"No, I'm not. I've alays been a soldier' said Nanashi
"Can't you look sad for killing your comrades?" asked Midii
"I used up all my sadness when I was a baby" Nanashi replied.
Nanashi at this point realizes that the device aroung Midii's neck is a transmitter that has been giving the Federation all of the Mercenary Units information.
A bombing raid occurs and Trowa grabs Midiis hand and they take off on a motorcycle away from the devistation.
"I'm not going to thank you." she said. "I have no right to live."
"Me either." replied Nanashi
After the raid Nanashi finds the Captain dead and no one else has survived. He turned to Midii,
"How much did you get?"
"Enough to feed my 3 brothers and sick father for a while." she said
Nanashi yanked off the cross and threw it to the ground. It was also a transmitter. He pulled a gun on Midii.
"Even you get angry, huh? Nanashi." she asked. Then Midii goes into an emotonal explanation of her actions:
"You once said that I was you. But really I'm completely different. I'm not happy like you. You have freedom. You're much happier than me. You have nothing that can be taken away from you. No name, no past, right now, not even companions. I have the name Midii Une. I have a sick father and three little brothers. Because of that, I had to become a spy and cause the deaths of lots of people. I can't even tell the person I like that I like him! Do you understand why?!Because I'm not empty like you! I have too much! Family! A home! The knowledge of what bad things I've done!
That's why I hate empty people like you!
Midii took off her transmitter and Nanashi fired two shots. {They hit the transmitters not Midii]
"Wait... Wait, Nanashi! " she called
That's not me. I have a name. I am...
(standing in a field no longer with Midii looking up)- a travelor who's looking for a home to return to.
Nanashi made his way into space and was working as a mechanic for Heavyarms within the Barton family on the L3 Colony. This is where we meet the Real Trowa Barton. He is the son of Dekim Barton who first founded the origianl Operation Meteor plan. Trowa was shot by Professor S and his associate when Trowa threatened to inform his family of their disagreement with Operation Meteor, which would kill billions of people on Earth. Nanashi witnessed this, but instead of also being shot he took Trowa's idenity and became the pilot of Heavyarms. He stated
"I have become fond of this Suit."
Nanashi finally got a name! (it only took about 14 years)
Sometime before the real Trowa died, he had shown Nanashi a picture of his niece Mariemaia. This played a role in Endless Waltz.
Trowa is the most mysterious of the Gundam pilots next to Heero.

He was nameless ' nanashi ' for almost 15 years.
He is the nameless soldier who has been on the battlefield for as far back as he can remeber.
He is silent but deadly, yet calm and quiet. He doesn't talk much and stays to himself, but on the battlefield you better not be his enemy. He is a cold and calculated fighter who knows his goal and will do what ever it takes to reach it, including self distruct. He is the pilot of Heavyarms the most heavily armed of the gundams. Trowas choice battle manuveuer is to spray his enemies or target with a shower of missiles and bullets rather then hand to hand (or suit to suit) combat. He occasionaliy does his siganture triple spin in the air followed by a nice slash of a knife.
Trowa manages to laugh once out of the entire series(Even Heero managed more then one!), he does this after Heero self-destructs and later make a comment about how much it hurt.
Mr. Personality he's not, but his lonely and sad past explains his reserved ways.
While not fighting Trowa hides among a traveling Circus as a clown. This is where he meets Catherine Bloom, who is the star knife-thrower. Trowa lets Catherine throw knifes at him and he has good skills for working with the lion. He also is a very good acrobat. Catherine thinks Trowa is an odd kid when she first sees him but develops a bond with him and considers him as her brother (Oh, the irony. He is her Brother!) This bond plays an important role when Trowa trys to pull a Heero and self-destruct. Catherine saves his life by climbing into the gundam and slapping Trowa. She cried and told him he was selfish to only think of himself and not the people he would leave behind. Trowa later tells Heero that her tears stopped him from self-destructing(don't lie Trowa it was the damn slap!)
Trowa eventualy decides to become an OZ soldier, while keeping it a secret that he is a gundam pilot. He proves himself by destroying Duo's Deathscythe which had been captured by OZ who wanted to make an example out of it. After it is blow away, Trowa sheds tears as a natural reaction and not due to his emotions. Being one of the best OZ soldiers Lady Une allows him to be the first person to pilot the Vayeate. When Quatre goes insane with Wing Zero, Heero and Trowa are sent in the Mercurius and Vayeate to stop him. The Vayeate gets blasted to garbage, trowa is left drifting in space with no memory.
When Trowa loses his memory(thanks to Quatre) Catherine uses her nurturing care and nurses him back to health. She does her best to keep him from going back into battle, but space was calling and Trowa answered. Trowa becomes close (if you wanna call it that) with Heero. Heero was the only one to make him laugh, and Trowa had no hesitations of saving Heero after Heero self destructed.
Trowa is the only pilot beside Quatre to show some musical talent. He plays the flute and very well. Him and Quatre played a duet together once with Quatre on Violin.
A.C. 196 Endless Waltz
In Endless Waltz Trowa is reunited with memories and people from the past. He joins Mariemaia's army in the hope to stop the true Operation Meteor from occuring and succeeds. He pilots a Serpeant suit for a short time to battle Duo and then is later reuited with Heavyarms
At then end of Endless Waltz, Trowa hands in his Mariemaia uniform, blows up Heavyarms, and returns to the Circus where Catherine is waiting for him.
