He is the pilot of Gundam Sandrock which he often calls "Boku no Sandoroku" with great feeling. This simply translates into "My Sankrock".
He was born into the Winner family, the 30th child and only boy. He is also the only one born from a natural birth, all his sisters were testtube babies. This is because the movement of space can have dangerous affects on pregnancies, that is why Quaterine (Quatre's mother) passed away after giving birth to him. Quatre does not know he was born from a natural birth. His father just told him he was a test tube baby like his sisters so he wouldn't be sad about his mother or feel different from his sisters.
Quatre believe it or not is a pacifist(Well, kind of)). He loves peace and would love nothing more then the war to end, but he knows that it will only end through fighting the enemy. Quatre's father on the other hand is a complete pacifist he does not believe that Quatre should be fighting to end the war. "What can a kid like you actually do" he asked him; and also "So, has your fighting stopped the war?" Mr. Winner is head of the Winner family (Until his untimely death). They are ultra-rich, and the leaders of the L4 Colonies. During war times Mr. Winner allows Instructor H to take refuge with them(Opps!)-Instructor H secretly uses the family's resources and builds Sandrock. Quatre goes against his father beliefs when he decides to fight with Sandrock, he actually goes against his own beliefs as well. He hates bloodshed but will do what he has to, to save the colonies.
The usualy peace-loving Quatre loses it once during the Gundam series and goes on a killing rampage(everyone has their bad days). After his father is killed, Quatre goes nuts. He find the plans Instructor H left behind in the Winners computers to build Wing ZERO. Using their resources he has it build it ? days (No ones exactly sure, but it was quick). Wing ZERO, as you may have guessed, has the ZERO system. This on top of his insaness does not make a good combination. Quatre thought space needed some remodeling so he took out a few colonies and killed anyone and thing that he came across. His rampage comes to an end when OZ sends out Heero and Trowa in the Mercurius and Vayeate. Trowa almost dies and Heero gets pretty banged up but when it's all said and done, Quatre was stopped.
In the final episodes of Gundam. Battles are being fought between the Gundams and White Fang. In one of these battles Heero instaled the ZERO sytem into Sandrock. Quatre tried to tell him he wasn't capable of mastering the system, to look what had happened the last time he use it. But Heero won the disagreement telling Quatre that he would be a stonger leader with the system and that he could use it without going crazy. He used it and it worked out well but after the battle he removed the system.
When Quatre infiltrated Libra when it had been crashed with Peacemillion. He meets up with Dorothy. They have a long discussion while fencing and in the end Quatre gets stabbed by her in his midsection. (By the way, I HATE Dorothy.)
We often see Quatre with the Maganac Corps. and they call him Quatre-sama [Master Quatre].

In Endless waltz, since it was Quatre's idea to send the Gundams into the sun; he and the Magunacs went and rescued them. In the very end when peace was restored once again, Quatre returned to the Magunacs.
