Harold F. "Loppy" Loppnow Of Ixonia. Passed away July 11, 2005 at AngelsGrace Hospice, Oconomowoc, age 86 years. Born April 26, 1919 in Oak Creek, WI, to Fred and Erna (nee Drawantz) Loppnow, Harold married Julia Vollmer on Sept. 19, 1942, in South Milwaukee, WI. Survivors include his wife Julia, of Ixonia, WI, three children; David (Ruth) Loppnow, of Watertown, WI, Carl (Laura) Loppnow of Lebanon, WI and Lois (Howard) Wiedenhoft, of Watertown. Also survived by brother Raymond Loppnow of Milwaukee and one sister in law, Mary Vollmer, of Milwaukee. Also survived by 13 grandchildren; Nathan Loppnow of Chesapeake, VA, Martha (Mark) Stabelfeldt, of Sterling, VA, Sarah and Charles Loppnow, of Watertown, Lisa (Adam) Small of Sun Prairie, WI, Laura (Shannon) Evans, of Las Vegas, NV, Michael Wiedenhoeft, of Watertown, Cory, Kyle and Elizabeth Loppnow, of Lebanon, Mallory and Travis Riggs of Lebanon, Joe Petrick of Key West, FL, two great grandchildren; Madeline Evans and Oliver Small. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents. Harold owned and operated Loppy's Bar in Ixonia since 1960. He was a proud sponsor of many basketball, softball and bowling teams. Prior to that he owned and operated a milk route for 25 years and hauled milk to Golden Guernsey Dairy. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ixonia. Harold served for three years in the U.S. Army, 638th Tank Destroyer Battalion from Nov. 1942 - 1945. Decorations and citations include American Theater Ribbon, European / African Middle Eastern Ribbon with three Bronze Stars and Good Conduct Medal World War II. He was a member of the VFW 3709 of Watertown and the AMVET Roman Milewski Post 4 South Milwaukee. He was a member of the Jefferson County Tavern League since 1960 and served as director and officer for 25 years. He also loved being a member of the Ixonia Volunteer Fire Department and serving his community. Loppy was an avid hunter and bowler. He enjoyed life and cared deeply about his family, friends and patrons. Funeral Services Thurs., July 14, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Ixonia, at 9:30 AM, with visitation from 8:30 AM until the time of the service. Rev. Kenneth Ewerdt officiating. Interment Arlington Park Cemetery. Graveside Military Rites will be conducted by the State of Wisconsin Military Funeral Honors Program. Visitation Hafemeister Funeral Home, Water - town, Wed., July 13, from 4 PM until 8 PM. Memorials to St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Ixonia, Ixonia Fireman's Hall and Park, AngelsGrace Hospice of Oconomowoc or the memorial of your choice. HAFEMEISTER FUNERAL HOME IN WATERTOWN IS IN CHARGE OF ARRANGEMENTS.
