Chaos Army of Lascivious Smut

Chaos Warlord of Slaanesh

Dwarves to the left of her, undead to the right her she was, stuck in the middle with Slaanesh. And it was great Slaanesh, lord of pleasure, lady of pain, who sent another champion - a sorceror - to Smut's aid. She arrived on a dragon, a beautiful blue beast with gossamer wing and lustful breath. With it flew harpies, and beneath loped chaos hounds lead by pastel-hued knights. At last his army had become a thing of true might and beauty in the eyes of his Goddess!

It had started well - a victorious campaign against the dwarves of Khazak Brum in the Worlds Edge Mountians. Drawn on by the lust for new pleasures, Smut had lead his warband down into the deserts of Khemria. A few skirmishes had proven the strength of the Slaaneshi horde. Then the dwarves had struck.

A bloody battle ensued, a fight to the death. Smut had won, but it was a pyrric victory. As ever, though, chaos had twisted the fortunes of its chosen. From the tattered remnants of the army, a greater force was assembled, its ranks swollen by Slaanesh's devoted. Smut stood at a crossroads, and was well aware of the possible outcome. The eternal rewards due a daemon prince, or damnation as a mindless spawn. There was no choice but to press on.

Smut considered all that had come to pass, memories as tangible as the clouds of incense weaving out of the burners. It had all gone so well, and then...

It was new territory, the dwarven mountains brooding far on the horizon. Fresh from victory, his army was strong, morale was high. Then the undead horde had struck. Smut's energy and passion was no match for the ageless wisdom of the tomb king. His warriors hacked through to the enemy command, but all the while the children of Slaanesh fell to undead terrors.

In all three battles were fought against the undead, the final being against a less able general as Smut was forced to retreat to safer realms. His shattered army retired to lick its wounds, the final victory scarcely making up for the humiliating defeats. However, there was much pain in those long weeks, and as Smut was well aware, that could be reward enough. One of his lieutenants approached with a repsectful bow.
'Lord, we have fresh captives. Your wishes?'
Perhaps this would not be such a sour day after all...

2000pts vs Empire
Curse those dwarves! Having beaten off repeated grudge-based attacks, Smut's horde has risen to regional notoriety. They had grown over-confident against the slow-moving stoic dwarven folk, and had little experience of cavalry (at least to be on the receiving end of it). The battle against the Empire was a complete disaster (partly due to the continued ineptitude of Retch, who clearly has a desire to be turned into spawn). However, from the ashes of defeat and all that.

It had started badly - the dragon ogres and their marauder support going down under a huge onslaught of skeletons, a sphinx and a bone giant, with zombie dragon and tomb king in support. The centre of Smut's army crumbled, but took the giant with them.

The advance only halted when the skeletons were unable to damage the magically armoured Pink Lancers. From that moment, the battle was lost. The tomb king and zombie-dragon-mounted liche soon succumbed, and the remaining priest was unable to control the mindless minions.

This was my first battle against a numerous mobile enemy. All in all it was a good win, but there were some blunders (not taking the scroll of dispell) and much was learned. I had no idea that the undead would be so slow - lich priests having a pitiful 20cm command range. In the next battle, there will be more dry and ancient souls reaped for Slaanesh's decadent pleasure.

So far, this army has also been fielded twice against dwarves, and has emerged victorious twice. Ultimately, I'll build a 2000 pt army. Not too sure what to put in it, but prime candidate is a chaos dragon mount for Smut. He/She would then join the chaos knights, giving +6 attacks to the unit and making the cause terror. A divinely unpleasant unit!

well,I've got that dragon, and a few more units to add to the flexibility of the army. A 2000 pt force is going to encounter more cannon and war engines, and more fliers. What else was there for me to do but add harpies? *grin* I've added dogs too, as they're cheap, increase the break value, and are actually quite nasty. Besides, armies with lots of cavalry are harder for me to engage in prolongued combat. Which brings us to the chaos knights. It was a choice between knights or dragon ogres. While the latter are scarey and hard, they're not as flexible as knights. Knights combine speed and hitting power with better defense. They'll also support the Pink Lancers - the knights with the Banner of Shielding.
