BRISBANE CHURCHES.

Anglican church "Parish Church of St John the Baptist" in Brisbane.

THE PRIME MINISTER OF Australia, Kevin Rudd grew up in country Queensland. Rudd interestingly said "Concretely, the same Jesus who talked about personal salvation is the same Jesus who said ‘Did you feed the hungry, did you clothe the naked’ - and these are the great criteria of the judgement." Rudd was raised a Catholic but has been filmed going to the Anglican church "Parish Church of St John the Baptist" in Brisbane but did not want to be filmed worshipping. "I’m not some great bastion of a moral crusade." His dad was a share farmer and died in a car accident when Kevin was 11yo. The Rudd family were forced to leave the farm and rely on the charity of relatives. "Mum was Catholic and felt the need to supply (practical help) to any in need." She was in Christian Women’s Association. In 1994, Rudd in a media interview refused to discuss religious beliefs. In 2005, Rudd explained his Christian position in 2005. In 1998, Rudd became member for Griffith in Brisbane. He is a member of the "Parliamentary Christian Fellowship" and calls himself a "Christian Socialist" which has long roots in the Labour Party. i.e. Andrew Fisher, a Prime Minister originally from Queensland was a "Christian Socialist", he taught Presbyterian Sunday school. "Christian Socialist" is a world wide network of people. Which Rudd describes as "centre left" compared to (fundamentalist extreme) right (like Family First which is deeply rooted in Assembly of God / Hillsong.)." Peter Garratt holds a Labour seat as a Federal MP and is also a member of the "Christian Socialist" and a well known "church going Christian". He’s the ex lead singer of "Midnight Oil." (A band esteemed nationally, a light rock band which focussed on "green and justice issues.") Carmen Lawrence, President of the Labour Party is an agnostic but has said "I have no problem with the values of it (Christianity in politics)."

The property has a large block of land. $185,000 more than $750,000 was raised in that 3 months. A fleet of cars were given, a truck, large tents and much more. 9. Late arrivals: -.
***10. Interesting info: Clark Taylor re-married his original wife Anne late 2000/ early 2001 after failed marriages. Clark repented and began ministering in Jesus Tent of Miracles in Toowoomba and Range CF prior to 11/2000 where he gained quite a following. Some people from Toowoomba now travel weekly to Brisbane. There is a "School of the Spirit" and a "Prophetic School". Staff include Faylene (Hill) Sparkes (Prophetic) from Redcliffe, Eddie Coe (Miracles & Healing); Steve Smith (1980's Music Ministry); Doug Stanton (Revivalist, Evangelism, Pastoring); One lady said to me "Tim, I've learnt to pray for the sick like I never have before with incredible results. I don't pray for the sick anymore which hardly ever worked. I exercise my authority and speak to the infirmity and release the person." (Background: Clark Taylor is in his 60's as of 2002. He was the founder "Christian Outreach Centre" which has spread with scores of churches throughout Australia and dozens of churches Internationally. He admitted to committing adultery which basically caused COC to oust him. Clark ministered in the USA and tried to open a church in Brisbane circa 1998 while re-married. He got back with Anne his original wife who was working for COC Mansfield and the current leadership asked him to sit in the audience of COC Mansfield but it never quite worked out and that's where he ventured out to form his own church where he ministers Sundays mostly.)
*** HISTORY BACKGROUND OF CLARK TAYLOR.
Clark Taylor was born in Queensland, Australia in 1937. Grew up as a teenager in the Northern Territory. He was converted at Billy Graham crusade in 1959. Clark went to Bible college. In 1961 Clark met Anne. They had a child Linda. In 1974 Christian Outreach Centre was born. 25 met in a house in Keperra, Brisbane. The next week was at Teachers Union building Spring Hill, Brisbane. Then was at Trafalgar St Woolloongabba, Brisbane. Late in 1975 Christian Outreach Centre moved to Victoria St West End, Brisbane. Services began on TV in 1977. Work began on a $2.5 million project at Christian Outreach Centre, Wecker Rd in 1982. 3,500 people came to opening service May 1983. 25 acres in size. Clark said there were 286 churches. Clark said that he became depressed. He was plagued with the thought no one like him for simply himself, they only wanted what he could give them. Clark said word for word "I wanted somebody to want me for ME. Not for what they could gain from me. Not cause of what I could give them. I think that emotion and that thought played on my mind for a long period of time. Till somebody was there that I foolishly thought could satisfy that part of my life and I failed morally and I failed badly morally. It was really tragic. I fell morally more than once." Taylor resigned due to this. He admitted to this moral failure with a female church member from another church. The Pastors of her church approached Clark and asked if it was true. Clark said it was true and he then told the leadership of his church. Anne said she would have stayed in the marriage if Clark had not left. Clark resigned in 1989. Clark was put at a distance in 1990. In 1991 began 7 years of doing little. 2 weeks after resigning Clark was selling palms at the flea market. Former church goers would ask Clark for prayer. Anne did not get asked to be married to any other and remained involved with the main church. Clark remarried but this failed. Clark wrote apologetic letters to Anne each day for 20 days. Anne wrote a short letter back eventually and this encouraged him. Clark and Anne re-married. In 2001 at the age of 62 with failing health Clark met with the leadership of Christian Outreach Centre to see if there was any chance of reconciliation as Senior Pastor. They didn’t say no but didn’t say yes. Clark was faced with the alternative of doing nothing. Clark had no congregation when he saw a building for $725,000 and used $5,000 credit for a deposit. The remainder to be paid for in 16 weeks. The church started with 320. In 5 weeks they had $20,000. Clark has preached all over Australia and apologised every time.

The Pastor is considered to be a forefather of the Charismatic movement in Qld. He was asked what he would do over again and he said "I wouldn't have a church so close to the city, all churches are dying which choose to do so. Suburban churches do florish."
