Era Two - The Gurus


Who are the Gurus?

The gurus are a group of people that performed seminal work in the area of quality control, assurance, and improvement. Each of these men gave their life to the improvement of quality. The historical significance of the "Pre Gurus" must not be forgotten, but the "Gurus" transformed general statistical science into the usable tools and management systems that are transforming industry today.

  1. Walter A. Shewhart

  2. W. Edwards Deming

  3. Kaoru Ishikawa

  4. Joseph M. Juran

  5. Armand V. Feigenbaum

  6. Genichi Taguchi...COMING SOON!!

These are the men that are most commonly called gurus in the field of quality. Each of them made major contributions to the field. There are other historic figures that made contributions to quality, but are not generally considered to be gurus.
