Titan came to live with us when he was 6 months old and out of control. His previous owner had not even taught him the word no. Titan is a very affectionate dog who just needed to learn manners. This picture was given to me by his new owners. The bulldog was getting a little to friendly! Titan staid with us for approximately 6 months before he was ready to go to a new home.
Maggie Mae came to live with us when she was dumped at a shelter after her new owners had her about 1 month. They had adopted her and found out shortly afterwards that she was pregnant. Tootsie came to live with us after animal control picked her up loose on the street. She as 11 mos old. Her owner was contacted but never claimed her. She was very timid with women when she came to me. This picture is typical of Tootsie when she first arrived. She would hide under the table from me. She was also terrified of a leash. After several weeks she became more trusting and affectionate. Tootsie is the second dog from her litter to arrive in rescue.
Dolly came to live with us after she was taken by animal control from her owners because of abuse. She was a very sweet, thin and timid dog when she came in. She turned into a sweet dog that was happy to meet new people.
Spock came to live with us after his owner turned him into rescue. Spock's previous owner said he snapped at their toddler after she tripped over him and fell on him. Spock is a very sweet loving approx. 6 year old male. He is arthritic and if a child fell on him he would have experienced some pain. His previous owners were not giving him anything for his arthritis. He has responded well to Glucosamine in his foster home and gets along well with both the female and male Dane and the male mini Daschund in his foster home. He likes to be hugged, go for walks and car rides. He has not exhibited any aggression at all in his foster home. Just the opposite, he has been a sweet boy who gets his feelings hurt easily if corrected by voice.
Sarah - Sarah came to live with me after spending two months at the vets office. Sarah's full story can be seen under rescue stories. She is a very sweet girl that just loves people and finally being a house dog. Sarah staid with me for several months before meeting Jeanne at the MD SPCA Walkathon. Jeanne and her husband Frank fell in love with Sarah and have agreed to foster her and care for her so that I could take another dog in. Sarah went to their home and lived the life of a princess, receiving the attention everyday that she craves so much..
